Chapter 16~ The Shadow

"We're coming too" Hikari's cold fingers slipped into mine as she told Aphmau.
Aphmau nodded then turned her head to Laurence and Travis.
"Aren't Laurence and I obligated to come?" Travis asked her
"Uh hehe" Aphmau muttered then tilted her head up "as long as we have an even amount of people then we can go. Six is fine, Travis, Aaron, Laurence, Hikari and Auria lets get ready to be heading out we'll take a ship to Brightport and Begin our journey from the abandoned wolf village" she turned to Vylad and sighed,"Vylad please take care of everyone"
Vylad nodded,"I'll do what I can"
Aphmau turned around, "let's head out"
Hikari and I followed her uncertainly but still did gripping each other's hands tightly. Aaron followed behind us with Travis and Laurence at the back of the group.

After a longish boat journey and a small trek we had made it to what Aphmau described as... 'The Old wolf Village'. Hikari took a seat and dragged me down to sit next to her. She smiled and gave me a bag.
"Here some warm clothes, don't stress I have some too." She told me holding up her own.
"Why? It's pretty hot here" I replied confused.
"Later on, it gets freezing so put them on here so you don't freeze there" Hikari explained. I nodded and stood up and ran to a broken down hut on the hill. She smiled at me giving me a thumbs up. I ran into the hut and crouch beside a crumbling wall. The clothes weren't the most beautiful thing but they were warm. I pulled at the collar I could already feel the sweat dripping down my chest and back. I dug through the bag I found a beanie and gloves.
"Perfect" I muttered happily to myself, she was so kind to pack these for me. My ears twitched as I heard a squeal."Hello? Who's there?" I heard the squeal again and a bit of muttering. I twitched my head in confusement I didn't know how to react. I saw a little strand of light brown hair blow from behind a small crumbling section of the fallen broken hut. "Come out please" I asked politely.
"N-n-n-no, I refuse too!" A young voice stammered from behind the wall.
"Please, I don't wish to hurt you!" I told her trying to re-inherit the formal voice I had in the Irene Dimension.
"Uh- mother wouldn't like this, but okay." She walked out her short light brown hair flowing in the warm breeze. She had brown eyes and tanned skin almost the same colour as Aphmau's. She looked around 8.
"Hi there, I'm Auria! You have a lovely dress on" I commented. The little girl was wearing a skin toned dress with lots of little flowers and lace on it it was torn and had dirt patches on it, she was wearing skin toned slip on shoes which were battered up as well. She had a purple satchel slung over her shoulder it was stacked with books and the top had been opened.
"I'm Lauren, thank you, you have... Umm NICE HAIR" she pointed out. I laughed and thanked her for the compliment. She looked at me with wide eyes. Then looked down and held a rock to her ear then nodded and whispered something. "I have to go BYE! And she ran off!"
I waved an almost in an instance she was gone. I walked back to them but they were already packing up their gear and walking off. I ran after them and slipped my hand into Hikari's.

Aphmau had already walked down the hill to ask if we could stay at the camp. It was freezing, Hikari was right. I was Lucky. Laurence looked freezing in his sack like clothing. I walked up to him and giggled my voice shaking with cold as I put my beanie on his head.
"Sis you need it more! You have it! Look at you shaking in the cold. Come here!" He hugged me sending goosebumps to the very tips of my nearly frost bitten toes. Then thoughts clouded his mind he went silent and let go of me.
"T-t-t-thanks L-l-l-Laurence" I stammered the cold air choking my words. Aaron started to hop down the hill, it sent a thought through my mind
I wonder if Aaron's abs are cold? Hmm that's a question for another day.
"Auria!" Hikari screeched through the snowy air.
"What?" I grabbed her hand.
"Are you warm?"
"NO" I yelled in replied giggling.
"Aphmau's beckoning us, let's go!" Hikari dragged me down nearly making me tumble over the cliff over 5 times. When we reached the bottom Aphmau had begun talking to people asking them questions. Every time she ended a conversation she walked away with a disappointed look on her face.
"Aphmau!" I called to her she looked over at me and waved. I wandered over hugging Hikari before I did.
"Yes?" She asked.
"There was a little girl." I started to explain, "At the wolf village."
"And?" She asked
"I just wanted to tell you." I felt my heart sink. She was in a rush so it didn't matter as much. She walked off over too the owner of the home. Laurence was sitting on a log around the fire, Aaron was leaning against a wall like usual and Travis... I took a deep breath and I walked up to him and tapped him gently on the shoulder.
"Hi Travis" I muttered.
He spun around and gave me a stupid grin, "Auria! It's been forever since you last spoke to me!" He poked me playfully, "You just randomly started ignoring me!"
"Oh shut up! You said we had nothing to my brother!" I punched him in the shoulder. He winced. Hey I do have a hard punch!
"Your brother? Since when did you have siblings?" He questioned me grabbing at his shoulder.
"Laurence is my brother. Now are you Going to apologise?" I asked him expecting an apology.
"I'm sorry" he apologised, I beamed, "I'm sorry that Laurence is your brother" he laughed and I raised my leg and kicked him up between his legs. He Collapsed then he quickly apologised for what he did to me in Naharaka village. I laughed as he stood up shaking off the snow and walked off. Where'd Aphmau go? I wondered. Hmm I don't know, maybe I'll go speak with the owner of this place. Each footstep made my feet sink deep into the snow.
"Hi there!" I called out as I collapsed onto the porch of the little house.
"Oh hello..." The owner said as she helped me up, "Who are you?"
"I'm Auria, who are you?" I introduced myself.
"I'm Isabel" she introduced herself pushing some of her silky brown hair behind her ear.
"That's my brother Laurence over there" I said pointing to Laurence.
"Oh really?" She said raising her eyebrows, "I really want to talk to him!"
I laughed, "Go ahead he won't mind!"
I looked around camp for the others but no one was here except Laurence. Where'd they go?
"DON'T TALK TO HIM ISABEL" A shout flew across the camp.
"Why not!" Laurence's voice shouted back.
"She's my fiancé! That's why she does what I want!" A man stepped over the hill and ran down towards Laurence. The man smacked Laurence in the side of the head and then headed toward Isabel. He slammed her body down to the ground and she whimpered, struggling to breathe.
"HOW DARE YOU ABUSE A WOMAN LIKE THAT!!" Laurence screamed. His eyes turned red and his skin went pale. He swung out a blazing red sword as armour of obsidian and glowing red appeared over his clothing. Isabel stood up and backed away and I ran towards him as stood in front of the man. Laurence attempted to push me away I felt the dip of the sword touch my arm and slice through me blood dripping down my arm, it didn't hurt though.
"Please... Don't!" Isabel cried.
Wings appeared on my back and I felt my dress that I use to wear rip around my shins. My Royal Guardian Sword appeared in my hands and I turned to face Laurence.
But Isabel beat me to speaking, "Oh my Irene your beautiful!" She gasped but when Laurence attempted to push me out of the way again her face went pale. "Don't please Laurence!" Laurence hiss and managed to shove me back towards Isabel and punched the man sending him to the ground. Laurence held his sword up against the man.
"LAURENCE LAURENCE W-WHAT ARE YOU DOING" Aphmau ran around the corner crying and ran straight towards Laurence.
Laurence growled, "HE TRIED TO HURT HER!" He continued screaming, "HOW COULD YOU DO THAT TO YOUR FIANCÉ!?! LIKE HECK ILL STAND AROUND AND LET YOU PUT YOUR HANDS ON HER LET ALONE ANYONE ELSE!!" His eyes were blazing with anger as he drew the sword closer and closer to the man. Aphmau began turning her head in confusement.
"LIKE I SAID SHE--" The man began. But before he could finish he was imprisoned in ice.
Ohh IRENE... Save us all now.
