Chapter 18~ Dark Side Of The Light Side

The blinding light flashed and ground began to turn green as the snow melted, trees were glowing and I could here a river in the distance.
But Aphmau collapsed on the ground. Out of no where Laurence came up and struck Travis but he defended himself. I ran up to Aphmau feeling my Irene form take over as I went onto my knees and slid towards her. She was going cold and breath was quickening, I began to panic and put my hands above her as I'd been taught in training before I left Nothing was working...
Travis. Had. Killed. Aphmau. I didn't care anymore if I'd loved him or what. He'd. Killed. Her. Aaron came up to me his eyes were wide with panic. I gave him to her and nodded, he could handle her, he was a kind man. I got up and felt the cool tip of my Irene Guardian Sword touch my palm as it appeared in my hand. He'd. Killed. Her. Travis. Killed. Aphmau. She's. Going. To. Die. The words flowed through my head like a gurgling stream. NOW HE SHALL DIE!!
I leapt up into the air and as I began to strike down I began to feel my body freeze over, I glanced to my left and saw Lucinda holding her staff up at me. She was freezing me in an Ice Prison like that man. I attempted to break free but I was stuck, my body was completely frozen.
Laurence P.O.V.
I could feel the shadow on me take over as I leapt at Travis, his skin was grey and eyes purple. He stared at me as he blocked with the same sword. I could see Auria out of the corner of my eye giving Aphmau to Aaron. The shattering of ice as Lucinda smashed her icy cage.
I turned back to Travis for a mili second then the crackling of ice erupted from beside me. I turned to my left and it saw Auria, I think it was Auria... She was in her 'Irene Guardian Form' but the wings were black, the dress was too. And the usual white Guardian Sword had veins of red and black running through it. Her belt with the tear drop was bright red, but then I saw her eyes. They were red. Was there a dark side to an Irene Guardian? I'd have to ask Emmalyn to look that up... Or would I. I mean I was looking at one.
"She has a Royal Guardian Sword... Travis by the looks of it she was coming to kill... You." Lucinda observed look hard at my sister.
"Why would she want to kill me?" He asked looking towards Auria who was in a position as if she was going to kill Travis.
"Aphmau... Aphmau's dying! We need to get to Pikoro, now or... Or... Or... Well we will not have the Phoenix Alligiance..." Aaron Yelled at us.
Travis looked down at the ground sheepishly, "She won't die... I just know it."
Lucinda gave him a stern glare then looked at me, "Take him in custody, I need to question him." I grabbed Travis and heard him sigh. She turned to Aaron, "Carry Aphmau back please... I don't want her to die." He nodded and slipped his hood back on. WHY DID HE GET TO CARRY APHMAU!!!! JEALOUSSSSS Oh no he didn't!
"What about Auria?" Travis asked squirming his hands, I just held tighter?
"I'll teleport her back when we get back to Pikoro, now let's go." Lucinda replied sternly and began walking.
Auria's P.O.V.
I woke up shivering my head was throbbing and my teeth chattered non stop. I toppled off onto a stone floor and whacked my back on iron bars.
I saw a puddle and my reflection. Gasping I looked at my feet.
"H-h-how... I'm a shadow... Wait." I paused when I saw my wings. "I have wings, they're black. My eyes are red. My dress is black and our teardrop is bright red." I continued to mutter to myself, I felt someone watching me I slowly tilted my head up and Travis was looking at me with purple eyes.
"Hey, what you in for?" He asked jokingly.
"I dunno" I replied truthfully continuing the joke, "What about you?"
"Horses..." he replied.
I burst out laughing, "Really?"
"Yep, they seem to not like horses in this region." He began to chuckle, "You must be cold... Your shivering and you were captured in a block of ice..."
"I-I-I was?" I stammered, "I don't remember anything... Past me trying to heal Aphmau..."
"Oh okay... Look here she comes." He pointed to the entrance and Aphmau walked in. She flickered my lever so the door swung open.
"Come out and go, Laurence said Lucinda did a spell that made you forget what had happened after I passed out." She said. I gave her a curt nod and walked over to Travis.
"Remember next time no more horses" I whispered to him. Laughing quietly he waved me off. I walked out of the room and climbed up the ladder past Laurence.
I reached the top of the ladder and stopped. I was in the church of Irene... A statue at the end, Irene could see my dark form. Tears welled in my eyes, she knew I was a Shadow Guardian. I wandered through the seats quietly regretting my mistakes. Crouching down by the statue I placed my hands and whispered apologies to Irene.
Her voice replied softly, "Auria I don't know what your current form is, it might be because your father... Or your brother is an shadow knight. Stay in this world Auria, please protect her..."
Her?
It was like she read my thoughts, "Aphmau. Protect Aphmau! With your life!"
I nodded fearfully and stood up as I did I felt myself being purified, she may not know what I was, but she could purify it. I turned my head to see my white wings fluttering, I glanced down and I had a white dress on with a purple teardrop gem on the belt. I smiled not a hint of darkness was present in my current form.
I backed away from the statue still hearing her words ringing in my ears, "Protect her... Aphmau. Protect Aphmau with your life!"
Could I... No would I be able too?
