I walked my legs shaking warily, after Aaron had died I was walking in the forest day and night, my legs aching. But I walked out of the forest, my eyes burned as the sun shined into them, they were red with tears tainted with regret. The gravelly dirt path crunched under my steps, walking closer to Aphmau's home my hands trembled intensely. Should I do this? Yes... Perhaps she wants to see me? The path was letting small rocks go tumbling down as I climbed warily doubting my existence. The large purple blossom stood proudly outside, overgrown, but beautiful all in the same. Edging closer my hand froze against the door but forcefully knocked, yawning I walked in and stood at the door.
"Hi..." I murmured to her looking at my feet, noticing my legs weren't shaking as much. She let out a painful sob looking at Lilith she weakly smiled. "Hope I'm not ruining any moments..." Trying to not let out the pained sob I had to hold in. "I came to apologise, I'm sorry, hope you're okay Aphmau."
She smiled painfully at me, "T-thank y-you A-Auria, this has been hard but Little Lilith has helped a lot." She sobbed. I inched closer through the door and lower myself to the ground placing my hand gently on her hand.
"I'm glad... It's been hard hasn't it? He was close to you very, very,close, he loved you, you could tell. It is simple why he did it, Aphmau. You WOULD have died if you tried, there is no denying that. He saved you, he saved Garroth, he saved us from losing a leader..." I tried to empathise with her, looking at her straight in the eye.
"You haven't slept have you?" She asked quickly, I suppressed a yawn with my hand.
I shook my head but replied swiftly, "You haven't either." I rubbed at my face it was sticky from tears. She shook her head as a reply and look across at Lilith who looked up and asked in her baby voice, 'Where is Dada?' I smiled and got up, leaving her with the little baby girl. Opening the door with a creak and shutting it gently behind me. I leant against the door relief and began humming a song.
"Bless Irene Oh my soul, Oh Oh Oh my soul, I bless her holy name, sing like always before, Oh my soul, I worship her holy name..." Sighing I took a step forward. I began walking down the hill and soon got sidetracked seeing a friendly face. Taking a step down my heart skipped a beat as I tripped over a root but catching myself quickly before landing face first. The gravel crunched under my feet and I jumped up and snagged a purple leaf off its branch. But as soon as I touched it, it withered and died crumpling to dust in my palms. I crouched and lay the crumpled leaf dust gently on the floor. Thank Irene...
"A-Auria?" A voice stuttered above me, I looked up to see Garroth. Looking down at me, his eyes were surprised and embarrassed.
"Hey Garroth, what are you doing up here?" I asked falling onto the ground accidentally, looking up innocently at the blonde knight. He wasn't wearing his usual knight armour, now he wore a blue top and some jeans. Holding a hammer on his belt. "Been fixing the dock, I see?" I observed and glanced down at the dock, not much had changed really. Only a few planks had been nailed on, obviously he either had been really distracted or hadn't been working for long.
"Seeing Aphmau," he sighed, "Although she probably won't want to talk to me" I decided it was the first option, he was distracted.
I winked at him, brushed myself off and got up, "You never know." I felt his gaze sink in as I slipped down the hill.
