She was pissed off. That much was obvious. As much as I tried to hide it, I couldn't. Megan Stewart amused me.
I kept going back to this morning. I had noticed her running and playing football like a guy, only it was attractive. The girl made me impulsive. I hadn't meant to, but I had tackled her.
"Hey man, you coming?"Jason asked me, interrupting my thoughts.
"Nah. I think I'll pass this one," I answered.

"Come on! It's Daniel Stewart! And you know his sister's in our grade. What if she's there?" he pointed out.
"And what if I don't care?" I retorted.
Okay, that was a lie. That girl was different and I did care if she was there. She didn't know it, but I had cared for a long time.
"Trust me man, you care alright," Jay teased.
"Oh please! She'll never be like her brother. He was fun, she's boring. I'm not interested," I lied again.
"Okay, whatever then."
"Fine," I snapped. "I'll go, but not for the damn girl. I'm not interested and I'm damn sure she hates parties."
I had no idea how wrong I was.
