Chapter 6

Megan

I pushed Jared off of me, ignoring the way his chest felt under my hand. I rolled off of the bed and tossed Jared his shirt.

"It was in the room," I mumbled.

I straightened out my top and lifted my eyes off of the ground to look at Alyssa.

"Uh, Jared, be ready fast. Megan, come with me please. I need to talk to you," Alyssa told us.

I walked behind Alyssa, nervous about what was going to happen next. I turned to look at Jared, but he was already looking at me. I looked at him for help.

Jared smirked in answer.

Damn that boy.

I turned on my heel and followed Alyssa out onto the balcony.

"Megan?" Alyssa's voice was gentle and soft.

"Yeah?"

"Is there anything going on between you and Jared?" she asked.

"No, there isn't. I know what it probably looked like in there, but it wasn't anything to be worried about. I don't like him," I half-lied.

"I believe you, Megan. Only, can you clear one thing up for me?"

"Sure."

"Why was he, uh, on you?"

"I was keeping his shirt away from him because he annoys me," I answered.

Alyssa laughed softly.

"But if you ever develop feelings for a guy, do tell me, okay?"

"I will," I promised.

"Good. Now let's go do some shopping!" Alyssa exclaimed.

She slung an arm around my waist as I was taller than her by a head. I was like my brother, tall with long limbs, but while he had his eight pack and cut body, mine was lean.

"Hey, remember that black top that you were wearing yesterday?" Alyssa asked me as we made our way outside.

"Yeah. What about it?" I asked.

"It would look adorable with an ocean blue, midriff jacket," she explained.

"Oh! I never thought about that," I admitted.

"Is your spring break coming up any time soon?"

"Yeah."

"Perfect! We're going shopping today and when you're over. I'm sorry Megan, but it's time you showed off that hot body of yours!" Alyssa exclaimed.

I giggled which earned me a scowl from Alyssa.

I tried hard not to laugh when I looked up. Maybe Alyssa had said the whole body thing too loud because Jared and Daniel looked frozen and surprised.

"Oops. Maybe I said that a little too loudly," Alyssa mumbled.

"I think so, too," I responded.

"Are we ready to go?" Daniel asked after a moment of awkward silence.

"Yeah. You and Jared can go together since your car only seats two people. Megan and I can take my car," Alyssa answered.
