Chapter 20

•Sammy's POV•
"Everything's okay" Grace mumbled into my chest while she was crying. I felt so bad for her. Matt probably scared her to death. He was banging on the door yelling her name, after all. "Baby?" She said almost whispering. "Yes love?" I said. "Never leave me. P-Please" she whimpered. "I won't baby. I won't. Do you want me to move in? " Y-yeah." She said. So later that day

I called Gilinsky, Katelyn's brother, Johnson, and my other friend Taylor. (Who was in town) We all moved my stuff into Grace's condo. Into a separate bedroom so she wouldn't feel pressured to do anything. I felt that was the best thing for us. She was still scared of Matt but she felt safer. Or so she said.

•Katelyn's POV•
I heard a banging on the door and someone calling my name. Jack was sleeping upstairs so I didn't know what to do. I decided, even though I was scared I opened the door. There stood a sobbing, hurting Matt. As much as I wanted to hate him, I couldn't. I felt so so bad for him.

I thought about it and went out and hugged him. He hugged me back. I knew he wouldn't hurt me but I was still frightened. "I am so so sorry Katie. I'm going to try to leave." He sobbed. "Matt! You have to leave. You can't be around us anymore. You almost KILLED Jack. You scared me. I don't know if I can trust you." I said.

I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. "Jack!" I said almost in tears. "Grace? Why is Matt here?" He said with anger in his voice. "Jack, babe, it's okay. He just came to apologize before he left." I explained. "Wait? He's leaving?" Jack said with a masked excitement. "Yes Jack. He just came to apologize for hurting you." I hated standing up for Matt, but it was just instinct. "Hey it's okay. I guess. As long as you don't swing anymore crowbars at me we are cool." Jack said.

You could tell it was forced, as I was squeezing his hand a little to hard. "Yeah. I guess I'll just go." Matt said, wiping away the tears. Matt started walking down the driveway. "Hey Matt?" Jack yelled. Matt turned around. "Keep in touch?" Jack said. Matt nodded his head, sent a weak smile, got into his car, and drove off. Out of the neighbor hood, out of the town, and the most saddening, out of my life. But not out of my heart.

I really hope he keeps in touch. Which he probably won't but I'll try to make an effort. I hope he just doesn't forget about him, me, us... No I'm not in love with him, but he has acted more like a brother to me than Jack Johnson ever did.

And he was my REAL, ONLY brother. He just almost quit taking to me completely.
"You can't date my best friend, Katelyn!" He yelled. "We are in love. I can do whatever the hell I want and you aren't my mom so you can't stop me!" I yelled, tears streaming down my face. "Jack, bro, who do you pick? Me or Katelyn?" Johnson said. "Oh and Katelyn? Before he says anything, the unchosen one steps out of his life FOREVER!" I was confident at the time about what Jack was going to say so I said "Deal!" We both looked at Jack with intense pressure. He looked at Johnson and said "Man, you know you are my best friend, but Katelyn is my world. I can't live without her. And if you were really my friend, you would have been happy to see me so head over heels in love with her!" I couldn't believe he said that. And from then on, almost 3 months ago, Jack Johnson, my brother, hasn't talked to me or Jack.

I know it hurts Jack to not have his best friend in his life, but Sammy has tried his best to help out and make Jack feel better. But I know Matt would never stop talking to me completely. That's why I still had hope that Matt would talk to me. Because I knew that he would always care about me. Even when the whole world didn't. He always would.
