Chapter 31

•Katelyn's POV•
Grace's due date was a week before mine. She had been waiting a longer time than I did. So the doctors scheduled her for a c-section on June 14th.
I was just getting ready to go home when I found out and I wasn't pleased. Sammy had told Jack and Jack told me.

"I just wanna go home with Hayden and Andrew!" I said whining like a 3 year old. "We are just going to stay to see the baby and Grace. Then we will leave." He reasoned and I gave in. "Okay. But I want to go home immediately after that!" So we packed everything up. As I held the babies Jack told the nurse what we were doing and she was fine with it. I'm pretty sure we would have done it anyways because it is A FREE COUNTRY. (Lol)

Jack picked up the car seats and carried them to the waiting room with me trailing behind. The babies were each 8 pounds 6 ounces so they were heavy! We walked in and sat down.

We saw Sammy walk down the hallway. "Sammy!" Jack and I said at the same time loudly but quiet enough that we wouldn't wake Hayden. "Oh! Hey guys! Grace is getting prepped for the c-section so Jase will be here in like 10!" Sammy said so excited that he couldn't even say anything else. "Okay! Get going!" Jack said. "Okay bye!" Sammy said. He walked down the hallway.

About 15 minutes later, we saw Sammy emerge from a room far off down the hallway. He was walking to us with a bundle of blue cloth in his hands. "Jase, say hi to Aunt Katelyn and Uncle Jack!" Sammy said quietly so he wouldn't wake up any of them.

They were all sleeping. "Hi buddy!" Jack said. "Hi honey! It's Katelyn!" I said sweetly. Sammy looked seriously at me and said "You are his aunt as far as I'm concerned so introduce yourself properly!" He said sternly but you could see he was smiling. "Okay, okay!" I began. "Hi honey! It's Auntie Katelyn!" I said.

His eyes fluttered open and he began to cry. Sammy tried to quiet him down but he couldn't. "Could I try Sammy?" I asked. "Sure" Sammy said handing me the baby. I rocked him a little and cooed "shhh shhh shh, it's okay. Everything's okay." He calmed down. "Mothers touch!" Jack said to Sammy beaming at me.
