Chapter #40 -Can't

{Rachel}

As I walk back to the lair after a frightening experience with Rocksteady, I walk into the lair without a word.

"RACHEL YOU-." yelled Mikey happily until I shut my bedroom door.

I felt bad leaving Mikey without saying anything, but I was still scared about earlier.

As I was about to unpack my stuff, I hear a knock outside my door.

"Hey Rachel. Can I come in?"

It was Raphael. I was happy-nervous to see him so I stopped unpacking my things and went to open the door.

"Hey Raphael, come on in." I said opening my door.

Raphael comes in and I closed my door shut.

"Hey, when did you arrive?" asked Raphael.

"I just barely arrived actually." I respond.

"Oh cool." said Raphael.

There was silence for few seconds.

"Look Rachel, I-I wanted to talk to you about um..." said Raphael nervously.

"I know, about the kiss." I said.

"Pretty much." said Raphael with a blush in his face.

"Kay, uh.... what about the kiss." I said

"I actually wanted to tell you if you want to get back together." confessed Raphael.

I just stay in shock until a flashback of what Rocksteady said earlier.

"Just because you think that your safe with your mutation powers doesn't mean that it can stop me from hurting the people you love, meaning Raphael." said Rocksteady.

I stay quiet, thinking about it for a moment.

"Raphael, I love you so much but.." I said.

"But what?" said Raphael waiting for my answer.

"We can't get back together." I said.

I do want to get back together with Raphael but I don't want my enemies hurting my loved ones so I have to let Raphael go until we're safe.

"Oh okay." said Raphael with sadness.

"Raphael I do desire of getting back together but...." I said.

"But what, Rachel?" said Raphael.

"But we just can't." I said.

"Then there's my answer." said Raphael in a upset voice turning towards my bedroom door.

"Raph wait." I said.

But Raphael left my bedroom before saying anything.

As the days past by, me and Raphael got less close. We can barely look at the each other.

One day I bumped into him and I had to explain him my reason on why we can't be together (but I didn't tell him about Rocksteady though). Raphael didn't care about the risks but I was. Moments later we had an argument. Since then, we haven't spoken to each other.

Sometimes I would cry myself to sleep because of how I miss him. I would do anything make it better.

{4 days later}

Today me and April went to the movies with Casey, we were gonna watch a horror movie that we wanted to see for a while. In the middle of the movie I had a call from an unknown number.

I had to leave movie room so that I can contact to the unknown number. As I tried calling this person for 3 minutes, they finally answered the call. It was Master Артур, he needed my help because he was injured so I agreed on going to Russia. After the phone conversation, I texted April and Casey that I was leaving. After that I had to go back to the lair to get my things.

When I entered the lair, I pass by Raphael. We stared at each other's eyes for a few seconds. I later turned to my bedroom and started packing.

I later heard a knock on my door.

"Who is it?" I said.

"Rachel, it's Splinter. Can I come in?" said Splinter.

I opened the door.

"My child, I saw you entering the lair with a rush, is everything okay?" asked Splinter.

"Well I have to go back to Russia because of an emergency." I replied.

"Every well, just fly safe." said Splinter.

"I will, thank you." I said.

Splinter later leaves and goes to Donnie's lab.

Since Karai had been mind controlled by the Shredder, Donnie has been finding a cure but no luck.

I know Donnie and I think he'll find a cure sooner or later.

As I finished packing I head out, but I was later stopped by Mikey.

"Rachel, where are you going?" said Mikey in a sad tone.

"I have to go back to Russia." I said.

"But you just barely came back." said Mikey.

"Leave her, Mikey. She always has to leave." I hear Raphael say.

I got angry, I turned to Raphael and I say ,

"You know what, Raphael. Just shut up and mind your own business." said angrily.

I later back to Mikey and say,

"Don't worry, Mikey. I'll be back soon as soon as I can. Maybe when I come back, I'll buy you a pizza just for yourself." I said to cheer him up.

"Really." said Mikey with a happy tone.

"Yup." I said.

Mikey gives me a quick hug and I later head to the dock in the end of New York.

As I was about to turn into my dragon mutation, I cried for a while because of the arguments with Raphael.

I later stop crying and I later turned into my dragon mutation. I began to fly and I didn't stop until I made it to Russia.

Here you go guys, a new chapter. Sorry if I haven't uploaded or updated for a while because of school.
