Allie

I drag North through the bushes and trees in the woods. She's a little un nerved about me bringing her here on a Saturday night especially without any reason. I just told her to get ready. She has no idea about the small surprise I have in store for her.

"Keep up loser!" I shouted playfully.

"It's dark and I don't know where exactly we're going!" She shouted back. "I could be home drinking wine or something!"

I laughed, "You'll find out when we get there! Being home alone sucks!"

Just a few more short turns and the secret entrance I made will be visible to me. I'm expecting her reaction to be priceless. I had a lot of help planning this specific event for her. I can only hope that she enjoy's her night away from reality.

It's cold tonight, but where we'll be resting at isn't. I've been running around in my grey jeans and white long sleeved thermal shirt. North is wearing that huge brown wool coat and black jeans, brown suede closed boot heels and a dark colored long sleeve shirt underneath. Her hair is down and mine is up in a ponytail.

We make it to the secret entrance. I can see the orange glare from the tiny holes and splits through the large bushes. I hear the music and people laughing and talking. There's a line of rocks that separate the surprise area from the inactive part of the woods.

North looks at me, eager to see what's on the other side.

"Are you ready?" I asked.

"Not really." She answered.

"Well I hope you're not going to be socially awkward like I was." I teased.

I grab her hand and pull her through with me. I'm delighted to see my work.

The large fire in the middle being fueled by tree logs and planks. My friends enjoying each other's company, some random people and couples we picked up off the street who were down for a random bonfire party out in the woods and the beer and snacks being tossed around.

We're even taking turns with our phones for music, since we couldn't find any bongo players or musicians in general to set an atmosphere.

North let's go of my hands and walks away from me. Her head looks like it's spinning around because of everything she's noticing at once. I creep up behind her slowly and wrap one arm around her stomach area. The heat from the fire is strong, but the mix of cold air makes a good balance.

I put my face against her's and whispered, "Do you like it?"

"It's amazing ... just like -"

"When we were younger." I finished.

"Do you know these people?" She asked looking over to the left.

"Yeah, actually," I answered. "That's Kendra, Jim, Xavier and Andrew. Everyone else here we just randomly picked up."

North breaks free from my hold and turns around to face me. I see the reflection of the fire in her eyes. An orange glow surrounds her face. The music gets louder. It's not the same ritual sounding music from five years ago, but it works.

She takes off her coat and folds it, then tosses it on the ground a few feet away from us. I pull her gently over to me. Her hands are warm against my neck. I smile and hold her hips, feeling the fabric of her jeans.
