After the game on Saturday, Alix went home to rest her body. Her mother and father didn't bring up what they saw. They didn't celebrate Alix's win either. Denial helped them put it towards the back of their mind. Instead, they wound up fighting again as Alix heard the whole thing hiding in her bedroom.
Allie went home and fell right to sleep, leaving Alix to endure the yelling on her own. She has no idea how often Alix's parents fight. To add on to the already bad situation, Alix didn't eat that night either.
Sunday, Allie went back to work feeling better. She made a good amount of money and pierced a couple of people too. Alix went to her normal classes and was ordered to come straight back home. The girls have a funny feeling that her parents found out about her sneak offs to Allie's house.
Allie didn't bother to tell Alix about her talk with Damian. She figured it was pointless to ruin Alix's mood with her jealousy. Alix has made it clear more than once that he's not even considered a friend.
This lazy Monday, Allie is in her work office organizing her tools on the back table. She's in grey sweats and a long sleeved black shirt. Her hair is down and getting in the way of everything. She's ready for another long day; another day playing the waiting game with her appointments. Alix is currently in class.
Her black computer chair is to the right of her, pushed in the table and still as possible.
Allie hears two soft knocks on her door. She nods her head a little impressed that she's going to be tattooing this early in the morning. It usually isn't until the afternoon when someone stops by, but this person is anything but a customer.
"Come in!" Allie said loudly.
The girl opens the door slowly and slips inside. Allie's back is still facing the door. The clicking of heels start then immediately stops as the door closes. Allie already knows it's a girl.
North stands inches away from Allie with her arms folded. She's just beside the mechanical chair in the middle of the room. She's wearing her black closed heels and tight denim jeans. Her jacket is thin, long and khaki colored. A black messenger back hangs off of her shoulder. Her dyed black hair is wavy today and it looks perfect - like always.
"What're you here for today?" Allie asked, still moving stuff on her table.
"To give you something." North said.
Allie stops. She knows the voice, but she doesn't want to turn around to a false hope. She turns around anyway and lays her eyes on the key to her past.
"What're you doing here? How'd you find me?" Allie asked firmly.
"Well they're not too many tattoo shops around here. I've been calling around - finally found you." North answered dryly.
They stare each other down. Allie feels more angry than happy. North sighs and unzips her messenger bag. Allie doesn't know how to say half of the things she wants to without sounding rude.
"What do you need me for?" Allie asked watching her.
"Could've sworn I told you I'm here to give you something." North said going through her bag.
Allie sighs and looks around. She feels awkward, but still angry. In a way a part of her hates North for randomly popping back into her life as if it wasn't off balance enough.
North pulls out a medium sized black leather book. It's in great condition despite the yellowing of the pages. Small rips and tares design the plain book on its spine along with the front and back cover. Allie slowly turns her head back to North and catches sight of the book. She knows what it is - getting instant flashbacks of herself writing in it.
