♥ Justin’s POV: ♥
I stared down at my feet as I waited for someone to open up the door. I stuffed my hands inside the pocket of my jeans, slightly shivering from the cool breeze. Suddenly, the door swung open, causing me to look up.
My breath hitched as her gaze settled upon mine. Her beautiful eyes pierced into me as she stepped aside, her face solemn as she let me in.
“Babe,” I breathed, as she closed the door once I was inside. I turned around to look at her as she crossed her arms at me.
“Scooter wanted to talk to you?” she asked, the words sending shivers down my spine.
“Yeah,” I whispered, overwhelmed that she was even speaking to me.
“Did he yell?”
I chuckled slightly, “Not as much as I thought he would. But he was still pretty angry.”
“Why’d you do it?” she bit her lip, avoiding my gaze.
“For what he did to you..” I mumbled a simple answer.
Jamie sighed, staring straight at me again. “You kinda took it too far, Justin. I can already tell what Scooter had to say.”
“And what’s that?” I challenged.
“Exactly what I just said—you took it too far,” she frowned in frustration.
“I-… I don’t-…” I groaned, throwing my hands up in the air.
“Justin, I’m happy you stood up for me but… You weren’t thinking, were you? He could definitely use this against you! He can tell the media and your whole career is over!”
“You don’t know that for sure!” I angrily countered. “I’ve dealt with a crazy woman claiming I was the father of her baby, do you remember that?”
“Mariah Yeater?”
“Ding! We got a winner,” I growled. “For all we know, the media doesn’t have to believe him, even if it’s true. I know my beliebers aren’t going to buy it.”
“You’d be lying to them,” she said softly. “Is that what this comes down to? Wasn’t it you who told me we should tell the beliebers about this pregnancy as soon as possible because you can’t stand lying to them?”
I kept my mouth shut, knowing she was right.
“Well, it’s too late for that,” I mumbled.
She raised her eyebrows. “What are you talking about?”
