< Chapter 45: Confessions >
♥ Jamie's POV: ♥
The romantic music went on as Justin and I ate the lobster that my mother had cooked which, by the way, was freaking delicious. Phoebe had told me that mom left not too long ago with my dad to go visit Pattie, and that hopefully the two of them would return tomorrow. In the meantime, our three best friends could sleepover if they want.
As for now, the curtains were pushed to the side as Phoebe, Ryan and Chaz all stalked Justin and I's date. Whenever either me or Justin would glance at their direction, they would turn away or get down but it was obvious they were spying on us. We, however, didn't really mind. We were just focused on each other.
"Did I say you look beautiful in that dress?" Justin asked, sipping from his cup.
"A million times," I blushed, pushing a strand of hair over my ear. He very well knew that Phoebe gave me the dress and for that he had agreed to buying her a new one later.
"It's because it's true," he smirked, setting the cup down and smiling at me.
"Thanks," I blushed harder. I knew that Phoebe and the others couldn't hear our conversation, but at least they know that something had made me blush.
Suddenly, Justin remained quiet as he silently stared up at the sky. Right then, I wished I could read his thoughts, because it seems as if he's having a million of them all at once. A look of hesitation ran through his eyes and fled before I could completely process it.
"Jamie.." he called softly, still looking up at the sky.
My hands held the utensils I was using to eat my food, and has frozen in place just so I could admire Justin. He still wasn't looking at me, he was simply watching nature at its best.
"Yeah?" I almost whispered. The way my name flowed out of his lips was... breath taking. It was really, really dark out, and that's how all the shining stars stood out. But it wasn't like we couldn't see anything out here. After all, my entire backyard was decorated in beautiful lights and romantic candles. Phoebe, Ryan, Chaz and my mom did pretty good setting this all up.
Justin didn't answer. I was beginning to wonder if he even said anything to begin with, and that my whisper was something he hadn't heard.
"I have something to tell you," he spoke a bit louder than last time, but only slightly, as if he wanted to make sure I had heard it. Suddenly, the leftover food in front of me wasn't as important anymore. What I really want to focus on, is this 'something' that Justin has to say to me.
"You know you can tell me," I assured, putting down the fork and knife aside.
"I know," his eyes finally met mine and my heart skipped a beat when I saw how much his eyes were sparkling.
