< Prologue >
♥ Jamie's POV: ♥
I used to believe that what people said about best friends falling in love will never apply to Justin and I no matter how much people expected it sooner or later. I honestly just wanted to stay best friends since that's what it was supposed to be like. But I guess everything changes, because now I'm definitely aware that I love Justin. Not just 'love', I'm in love with him. He's been acting quite affectionate lately, as if he might love me back. Or at least like me. Hey, it's baby steps, right? But I've always known Justin was just naturally flirty. It might just be him fooling around the way guys do.
But his music people finally gave him a well-deserved break after his "As Long As You Love Me" music video completion, and he decided he would visit me. He was a bit disappointed when I told him my parents were both away on business trips so he wouldn't be able to greet them, but lightened up when I reminded him he saw us all about a week ago, which wasn't so bad. Now we have quality time to ourselves.
"I missed you," I said when I opened the door to him standing on my front porch. He had a bag of luggage in his hand since he was spending 2 nights here.
"Oh god, I missed you so much, too," he smiled, giving me a huge bear hug. When he released me, I helped him bring his bag in and shut the door behind us. "It was only a week but it felt like forever."
"Tell me about it," I nodded, taking out cookies from the kitchen and placing them on a small table in the living room. "Want cookies?"
"Sure, thanks," he admired the cookies gratefully. He seemed pretty excited when he took one and slowly bit it. Gee, someone wasn't fed lately. But he sure does look hot eating that. That's right, I said it! My own best friend looks freaking sexy eating cookies I wasted my time baking because I knew he was coming. I did it all for him and I wish he knew that.
Wait a second...
It won't really harm anyone if I confessed the fact that I love him, right? No, hold up. This isn't just some guy I have a crush on where I could just do what my girl bestie, Phoebe, always says and take a chance and just ask him out. This is Justin Bieber we're talking about. Not only is he super famous and one of the world's biggest stars with a large fan base and screaming girls supporting his every choice. He's my best friend ever since we crawled together in diapers. Our families are very, very close that we might as well be related. But that's a little weird to think about when my heart aches for him. Nevertheless, my point is that this is harder to do with Justin for me than it is to any other guy.
"So fill me in on what happened the past week, while I was gone," Justin's heavenly voice interrupted my thoughts. I turned my attention to the Canadian boy who stared at me intently.
"Well, besides my parents going off to business trips, Phoebe met some dude in that restaurant she works in," I gossiped. Justin's eyes widened.
"These cookies are delicious! Did you make them?!?"
I took a deep sigh. I thought he was reacting to the news I just told him, not the damn cookies he's had for a while now. He had his chance to comment on the cookies. "Yes, I did," I reply with disinterest.
