♥ Jamie’s POV: ♥

I blink a couple of times, my eyes feeling heavy as I let out a quick yawn and stretch my arms out in front of me. I looked down to see Justin’s arms wrapped around my pregnant belly and couldn’t help but smile.

“Good morning,” a raspy voice whispered sexily in my ear, sending chills all over my body.

“Morning, doofus,” I teased, turning around so we were face-to-face. He goofily rolled his eyes and cupped my face into both of his hands, bringing me closer towards him until his lips pressed up against mine. I didn’t hesitate to kiss back, urging myself closer and deepening the kiss. We lasted what felt like an eternity before, unfortunately, we had to pull away and regain our breath.

“Did you sleep okay?” he whispered, kissing my forehead.

“Yeah, did you?” I smiled.

He nodded with a smirk before leaning close to my ear. “Only because I’m with you,” he said, kissing my forehead again. I couldn’t help but blush a little… Okay… Maybe a lot.

I was about to open my mouth to say something when I felt something thump in my stomach. I froze, staring at Justin with wide eyes. Silence filled the room as I waited, unable to process what just happened.

“Jamie?” Justin asked worriedly. “Are you ok?”

I didn’t answer. I continued to stare at him even though my focus wasn’t exactly on him. I waited a few seconds and there it was again— that small thump.

Suddenly, something clicked in me and I realized what it was.

“Justin!” I gasped loudly, quickly grabbing his wrist.

“Whoa, what? What?!” he panicked. I ignored his remarks before interrupting.

“Shh!” I hushed, “Listen.”

I brought his wrist closer towards me, resting his hand on top of my belly. He stared at me in confusion, but didn’t dare say a word. His gaze traveled from my eyes to my belly and we both paused and waited in silence.

I could tell Justin was about to say something but the thump happened yet again and Justin’s eyes widened.

“Oh my-… Was that-…”

“-It was our baby, Justin!” I beamed, my eyes lighting up as I stared happily at him. “You just felt him or her kick!”

Justin gazed at me in disbelief, unable to process the fact that our baby just kicked, meaning there really is life in there. Life we created out of love.
