Chapter 16 : Again

I sigh, tracing another cross in a case as the Truth puts a circle in another. I don't know how much I've been here already, but I have nothing to else to do except playing with the white thing in front of me. But it's so long... The time... My door is nearly destroyed now, and I can do nothing to help it. I don't know what will happen once it will be erased totally from there, but I don't want to think about it, it's like thinking abouth death.

-Um... I think you won... Again... the Truth declares after thinking.

Indeed, a whole line of crosses has been done and I sigh. Again.

-Well, it's a human game, you're just not used to it.

-Well, playing with you gave me the first times I've ever lost in.... My eternity....

-That must be long...

-It is. And you're stuck in it for now.

-You mean, there is no time here?

-No. As we are talking, a second or a thousand years can pass. We can't know what's happening.

I look down. A part of my door falls next to me and I turn my head toward it, not even surprised anymore it happens, and not paying attention to the intense pain in my chest. You can think it's scary, actually, but with time, I got used to it. I look up at the Truth and it grins, looking at another door which appears behind. A black haired man enter and he seems lost. I frown and gasp as I see him.

-Roy Mustang! I shout.

But no sound comes out of my mouth and he doesn't even notice me. The Truth turns itself toward the colonel and thy begin to trade for the Equivalent Exchange. Roy isn't here because he wants, but they forced him to do it. That means Envy's already dead and Roy will become blind.... The story is already this far.... Some minutes - maybe? - after, the door closes again and disappears. I sigh, letting my mind wandering as another piece of my door falls.

-Hey, the Truth suddenly says.

-Wh-what?? I jump.

-I can make you come back where you want. Your world or Amestris. Make your choice now.

I think a little, but in my heart, I already know the answer.

-Amestris, please.

-Now, just so you know, all the things you've been living until now we're your dream. You've been dreaming everything here, in front of your Gate of the Truth. You are not Edward Elric's sister, not a philosopher's stone. Just a normal girl. You still wanna go?

-I want.

-Then may I take something? In exchange for making your door correct and sending you where you want.

-Of course! Take what you want!

-You right leg? Yeah, this seems fine!

I nod and I disappear from the white room in a flash, only having the time to take my bag and look at my door, being fixed again.

I hardly land on top of someone, seeing high buildings around me and the military one not far from me. I guess I'm in Central- I shout, holding my leg. It hurts! It hurts so much! My vision blurs and I collapse on the someone I fell on earlier.

I slowly open my eyes, my vision still blurry, and I see somebody in front of me, looking at me. Blonde... Red coat... Wait... Is that... Edward? My- no, this was just a dream, now it's "reality". My name is still Jane, but not Jane Elric. I have brown hair and green eyes on top of that.
