Chapter 5 : The truth about me

I wake up in a bed., in a small room. I rub a little my eyes, tired, and look around me. That place... We are at Mr Tommy's house! Weakly, I get out of the bed to go and say "hi" to my friends, but I fall miserably on the floor. I sigh and come back in the bed. I am so tired and weak... Post fight maybe? I don't know. I feel weird, and don't really remember what happened after the fight. I just... Collapsed. Oh well, I have an easy way to know it! I take a manga and open it at where I won. Envy went away and Ed picked me up because I couldn't walk (how the hell could I walk if I was sleeping after all?!). Then Paninya told us that she would guide us to her home and my friends followed her in the mountains, Ed still holding me. I smile reading that. I find it cute. Not that I actually love Ed or anything, just that friends traveling together is cute. The door opens on Winry, carrying a Bol of water with towels.

-Oh, you are awake Jane! Let's see if your fever has downed a little!

-I had fever?

-Yeah, and you didn't breathe tap hat well. We don't really understand everything, but one thing is sure : even if you are a homunculus, we trust you!

She winks before coming next to me and putting a wet towel on my forehead, smiling.

-I just wonder... What am I finally? I can feel my heartbeat, am born human, but I can regenerate myself and fight like homunculi... What does that mean?

-That means nothing Jane, just that you're yourself.

-And still...

She smiles.

-Do you need more rest?

-Yeah, I feel tired. Thanks for everything, Winry.

-That's natural, don't thank me!

She goes out and I am alone again, in the room. What am I? Homunculus or human? Maybe... A crazy thought crosses my mind. Someone... Someone can tell me. Ed is gonna be very angry thou... But Hohenheim is the only one that can gives me an answer! I need to see him! But first, I have to heal correctly, so we can meet Ed and Al's master, Izumi Curtis, before Hohenheim. This is gonna be funny! I fall asleep happily, thinking I found an answer to all my problems.

~Time Skip~

The train arrived at Rush Valley. A day ago, we helped Mr Tommy's daughter to give birth, it was an awesome experience! Winry stays, as I predicted, at Rush Valley to study more about automails. And we leave for Dublith with Ed and Al. Our ways separate, but I know that Winry will come back soon. Also, in the manga, it's told that Izumi met him at Central. Ah hell, Central... No way I can find him... But I won't give up!! I have to meet him!! Arrived, I advert my friends.

-When she is gonna open the door, don't stay behind. Al, don't shake her hands alright?

-Huh, well yes...

We walk toward the meat shop the Curtis have and we see the employee. We tell him we wanna see Izumi, and her husband comes to great us. As he leaves to call his wife, I tell the brothers to hide next to the door, stuck on the wall, and not in front of it. They follow my advice and, when she kicks the door, they aren't hurt. She then tried to shake Al hand, but he doesn't give it, so she doesn't throw him away. Great.

-And who are you little girl?

-Jane. I have a long and complicated story, let's just remember I am a friend of Ed and Al.

Izumi gives me a "you will tell me later" look before nodding. Against all expected, she suddenly grabs my arm to launch me. So begins our fight. I land not far from her and she runs toward me to attack me again. I block it and punch her, but Izumi dodges it and bends down to kick me in my belly. I endure the pain and jump to land on her, pinning her on the green grass under us. She smirks and gets up. I help her and smile. She turns herself toward the Elric brothers, grinning.
