"Okay what's your locker number again?" I asked Luke as I ran my fingers along each locker we walked past.

"It says 304 so this must be the right hall." He said checking his papers.

"I hate this hall, its always so busy and Josh's locker is here." I said crinkling my nose up at the thought of him.

"This is actually his locker right here." I said pointing at the green locker.

"Um correct me if Im wrong but is his locker number 303?" Luke asked pointing at the locker. I looked down to confirm he was right.

"Yeah why? Is 303 your unlucky number?" I asked with a laugh. Luke smiled at me.

"No its just that my locker number is 304 so I'm locker neighbors with him." Luke said, all amusement leaving his voice. My smile fell as I realized this.

"Wow that's just fantastic!" My voice dripped with sarcasm.

"It'll be fine he doesn't even know me. Come on let's get my stuff in here so we can go find my classes." Luke said putting his locker combo in. I let out a frustrated sigh as I watched him empty his book bag out.

"Okay let's go I'm don-" Luke was cut off by the bell ringing which signaled 15 minutes till class started. This is the time most people start getting to school.

"Okay let's hurry its gonna start getting crowed now." I said heading in the direction of my locker.

I was able to show Luke the general area where his classes were and made sure he knew how to find my locker so we can walk to class together. We only had 5 minutes till first period, which isn't a class we share, so I walked Luke to class and told him to meet me at my locker after.

"Have fun, make friends." I teased him. Luke laughed and shook his head.

"You're the only friend I need." He said before quickly kissing me and then going into his class.

The kiss left me dazed. It amazed me how every kiss we had was so fantastic.

"Em what the hell." I rolled my eyes as I turned around to face my annoying ex boyfriend.

"Josh I don't have time to play these games." I said as I quickly walked away from him before he could cause a scene.

I hurried to first period and made it just as the bell rang.

"Cutting it a little close today are we?" Asked my Biology teacher Mrs. Yang.

"Yeah the hallways were kinda crowed today." I lied as I took my seat. Mrs. Yang rolled her eyes at my response before carrying on with the lesson.

Halfway through the period the secretary Mrs. Nelson came over the p.a.

"Hi Mrs. Yang?" She asked. Mrs. Yang went to the call button to respond.

"Hello, what do you need?" She asked in an annoyed tone.

"We need Emily to come down to the office with her things please." Mrs. Nelson asked.

"Sure I'll send her down.

Emily please go to the office." Mrs. Yang said before picking up her book and continuing to teach. I picked up my books and left the room. My heart was pounding. Why was I leaving? What had I done wrong? What if my parents were hurt or something? Tons of thoughts raced through my mind as I neared the office.

Standing outside the office was none other than Josh.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I spat at him.

"Finally, it took you long enough to ditch class. You know I had to lie to Mrs. Nelson and say that your mom told me your dad got in a bad car accident just so that she'd call you out of class!" Josh complained.

"What!? You lied? You got me out of class with a lie that sick and twisted!? How could you do that!" I basically screamed at him.

"Shhh babe be quiet people are in class trying to learn." Josh said in hushed tone.

"Are you kidding me right now!? I should be in class! And I'm not your babe! What part of 'leave me alone I never want to talk to you again' did you not understand?" I yelled at him. I was beyond pissed. How could he do this. Was he insane? Lying about my parent being hurt just to get me out of class, he was crazy.

"Hey sweetie calm down, I only did it because we need to talk. You kissing that guy in the hall today was not okay! If anyone should be upset it should be me!" He said reaching out to grab my hand. I pulled away.

"You're seriously delusional. Oh my god I can't believe you right now. That guy I kissed is my fucking boyfriend. I've moved on to bigger and better things and you need to leave me alone. There isn't an 'us' any more we are done!" I said glaring at him.

I spun around ready to go back to class when Josh grabbed my arm. I turned back around to see his eyes glaring at me. This was the most pissed I've ever seen him.

"I get that you're mad at me for kissing Hannah but we can move past that. I've tried to keep my cool and give you space but you have crossed a line. You can't date someone else if we never broke up! You need to end things with that dipshit or I will mess up his pretty little face!" Josh yelled at me. I gave him a disgusted look before tearing my arm from his grasp.

"We are over. Leave me alone! You can be with Hannah for all I care! Stay out of life and stay away from my boyfriend." I shouted before storming off down the hall.

Tears of anger fell down my face. I was so mad I was shaking. Why was Josh being this way? Why couldn't he let me go?

"This isn't over!" Josh yelled from behind me.

I went to the bathroom for the last ten minutes of class to try to get myself together. There was no way I was ending things with Luke. This is the happiest I've ever been. Josh doesn't even really care about me he just wants popularity.

As I was calming down Amber walked in. Her cotton candy pink lips formed an o when she took in my tear streaked face.

"Awe Em what's wrong!? Is it that dumbass Josh that we hate?" She said walking over to me and awkwardly rubbing my back. She reaked of perfume and her overpriced heels made her tower over me.

I was angry with her for showing me that bullshit compassion when I know she doesn't really care. I shrugged her hand off me.

"I can't do this." I said turning away from her.

"Awe I know its hard honey but it'll get better. Just hold your head high and don't let him get to you." She said clearly not understanding what I meant.

"No I mean I can't do this with you. I'm done playing this fake friend popular game. I know you don't give a shit about me so just leave me alone, you were never my real friend so stop pretending." I said turning to face her again. I crossed my arms as I stared her down and awaited her response.

At first her face was shocked and her eyes were as big as saucers, then it turned to upset but she quickly masked that with anger. Her hands balled into fists at her sides as she glared at me.

"You ungrateful bitch! I've sacrificed so much for you and this is what I get!? I can't believe you! You are totally losing popular points for that break up with Josh so I was just trying to help like the good friend I am but if you destroy our friendship you become a lost cause. I'm gonna give you a chance to apologize like the kind person I am." She said mirroring my position by crossing her arms.

"You can shove your popularity scale up your ass." I said grabbing my books off the counter and roughly brushing against her as I stormed out.

I walked outside the bathroom and took a few deep breaths to try to clear my head. I had just lost all my "friends" by ending my friendship with Amber. I was sad but more happy that I had gotten all those toxic people out of my life.

Soon the bell rang signaling the end of first period so I quickly pulled it together and walked in the direction to meet Luke. I wasn't going to let Josh control me or Amber get in the way of me being happy.
