"Hey how was your first class!?" I asked Luke as he walked up to my locker.

"It was fine, I got a lot of girls attention nothing new." He said winking and showing off his killer smile. I rolled my eyes but couldn't stop the smile from spreading across my face.

"I have something to tell you at lunch but right now we should get to class." I said turning away from Luke and heading in the direction of math. My stomach was doing summersaults as I thought about how I would tell Luke about what Josh did. It scared me to think about how he might react. I really didn't want anyone to get hurt because of me...well I wouldn't mind seeing Josh with a busted face.

"Are you okay? You seem upset about something." Luke asked as we walked into the classroom. It was relatively empty so I gestured for Luke to sit beside me in the back of the class. I knew Josh was in this class so I guess Luke needed to know at least a little of the story before Josh blurted out some awful lie.

"So about what I needed to tell you...Josh kinda ambushed me last period and threatened to hurt you if I didn't end things. I'll tell you details at lunch, he's really delusional and thinks we can work things out when I've already moved on and don't want anything to do with him. I'm definitely not ending things with you so you have nothing to worry about. Well except for Josh losing his shit and starting a fight with you. Also he's in this class." I said as fast as I could as I twiddled my fingers.

"What!?" Luke said with a concerned look.

"I know we'll talk about the rest of it later but you needed to know all of that in case Josh goes all alpha male and tries to tell you a bunch of lies." I said with an uneasy smile.

"Um Okay..." Luke said giving me a weird look.

"You have nothing to worry about I throw a killer punch and have never lost a fight." Luke said with confidence before flexing his muscles. I couldn't help but laugh at him. He made me so happy and completely put me at ease with this whole Josh situation. I believe Luke could beat him.

Soon the bell rang and Josh casually waltzed in as if he didn't have a care in the world.

Our teacher Mrs. Myers was late for some reason so the class was full of chatter. I couldn't focus on anything but Josh. I was terrified he would notice Luke and I and then start a confrontation.

"Hey its gonna be okay, alright? I'm not gonna let him hurt you or get between us. If anything happens I got you okay? So stop staring at the douche and ignore his presence. He wants you to pay attention to him so don't give him the satisfaction." Luke said staring deeply into my eyes. I believed he would protect me and could handle Josh so I relaxed and closed my eyes for a second to regroup.

"Yeah you're right I was totally stressing out for nothing an--."

"Well well if it isn't my cheating girlfriend and her bitch." Spat Josh as he stood in front of us. My breath caught in my throat, this was not happening.

"Look man take your shit somewhere else and leave us alone she's obviously not into you anymore so take a hint." Luke said with a smirk. Josh began to sarcastically chuckle.

"Who the fuck are you tell me when I can and can't talk to my girlfriend!?" Yelled Josh as he knocked all of Luke's books off his desk.

"Hey! Josh what the hell are you doing!? Leave us alone I've told you so many times we are over and NOT getting back together so stop being childish and leave!" I yelled as I bent down to pick up one of Luke's books that landed near me. Josh kicked it away before I could grab it.

"You ungrateful bitch! I've done so much for you! We've been together for years and you're going to let one stupid kiss ruin everything! I fucking love you, I love you so much babe and I refuse to let you go especially if its with some ugly shitface like him." Josh yelled pointing at Luke.

Luke stood up from his desk in lightening speed and immediately put himself between Josh and I.

"Look I don't where you get off thinking its okay to talk to my girlfriend like that but its not! She's not your babe and I don't give a fuck if you still love her. Get a life and move on!" Luke threatened Josh. Luke's eyes turned a dark shade of blue that was unrecognizable. Josh laughed darkly.

I'm going to give you 3 seconds to walk away from us before I beat the shit out of you and just know I'm being dead serious." Luke said in a stern voice. His voice was so cold I didn't know who he was in that moment. Its like he'd transformed into this hardcore scary person.

"I'd like to see you try." Josh spat in his face. Now it was Luke's turn to chuckle darkly.

"It's going to be hard to find another girl with your face all messed up." He warned.

"Try me." Josh said staring at Luke with a straight face. Luke didn't respond before he quickly swung his fist into Josh's nose. A bone crushing snap rang through the dead quiet room as Luke's fist made contact. Josh stumbled back from Luke and grabbed his nose before yelling a string of curses.

"What the hell man!" Josh screamed. Blood oozed through his hand onto the floor as he held his crooked nose. Luke shrugged and crossed his arms over his chest as he watched Josh.

"You said to hit you so I did..." Luke said like it was common sense. I wanted to laugh but at the same time I was beyond pissed. Yeah Josh deserved that but I couldn't believe Luke would actually hurt someone. It scared me that I didn't recognize the boy that stood in front of me. Where did he learn to be this cold hearted?

"Sorry for being late I got stuck in a meeting--- what the hell is going on!?" Mrs. Myers yelled as she entered the classroom. Everyone was out of their seats and had formed a circle around the three of us. Josh was cradling his probably broken nose and Luke stood there looking smug. I was behind Luke with a mixture of shock and panic flooding my features.

"Oh my gosh is your nose bleeding Josh!?" Asked Mrs. Myers in panic.

"I'm fine." Josh lied as he glared at Luke. His voice was slightly nasal when he spoke.

"Okay all three of you go to the office and report this to the principal, I don't have time to deal with this high school drama I have a class to teach. Everyone else sit down and take out your books." She ordered in an annoyed tone. Josh was the first to leave. Luke tried to hold my hand but I pretended I didn't notice and walked ahead of him.

Josh turned into the bathroom to go clean up his nose so only Luke and I were left in the hall. I heard Luke jogging to catch up to me but I tried to ignore it.

"Em slow down." Luke called finally catching up to me. I rolled my eyes. I don't know why I was so mad at him when Josh totally deserved that but I was fuming. I felt like he was keeping something from me. Something that explained his personality change.

I stopped walking and Luke jumped in front of me and blocked my path.

"Emily what's wrong, you're obviously pissed at me for something so just tell me so we can work it out. I'm not about that 'secretly mad at you' shit where you're mad and won't tell me why. So tell me so we can work through this." Luke pleaded. His eyes were their normal shade of intoxicating blue again.

"Can we work this out? Because I feel like I didn't know you in there. You were like this emotionless pit who didn't care about anything. It scared me to see you basically transform into someone else and now you're acting like you again and I'm realizing I may not even know who the real you is." I said taking a deep breath.

I held my breath as I waited for his response. His face was blank and there was no indicator to tell me what he was thinking.

"Of course you know the real me, I was just being tough to scare him." Laughed Luke as he avoided my gaze. Something flashed in his eyes that told me he was lying about that but I chuckled along with him to make it seem like everything was chill again.

He reached for my hand so we could continue walking. I let him hold it but something in my gut told me to not trust this blue eyed boy.
