Saying breakfast was awkward would an understatement. All that could be heard was the scraping of forks on plates. Bryce kept clearing his throat to fill the silence. Landon would occasionally try to start a conversation but it always led to no one really responding or Ryder turning it into an insult about me which then led to Luke telling him to go to hell.

I was extremely uncomfortable and just wanted to leave. When ever I tried to whisper to Luke about me excusing myself he would just shut me down.

After everyone finally finished eating Luke led me to his 'room'. He still lived with his mom but he also has a room here. The room had a lot of dark colors and posters. It definitely was more personalized then his other room.

"So what did you think of the guys?" He asked in a hopeful tone. I nervously cleared my throat.

"I don't really have an opinion on them since no one spoke basically that whole time." I laughed.

"I do like Landon and Bryce, they seemed cool yesterday. And Peter is nice, I had bio with him last year. Drew is a complete dick and so creepy. And Ryder hates me so I don't know if he's capable of being kind or not." I replied honestly. Luke smiled and nodded in agreement.

"Yeah that's a pretty good description of them, I swear Ryder gets better, he's just tough to get through to, and Drew is just a natural weirdo so that won't change." Luke admitted.

"Yeah he creeps me out, anyway what should we do now?" I asked as I looked at some of the bands on the posters on his walls.

"We could make out." Luke said with a suggestive smirk, he even wiggled his eyebrows for effect. I threw a pillow at him and laughed.

"No, stop." I smiled at him. He began to inch his way towards me so I moved further back on the bed. Eventually I ran into the head board and had no where to escape to.

"Well look at that, I've got you cornered Em." He smirked as he neared me. I tried to be stern as I told him to back off but the faces he kept making were cracking me up.

"Don't come any closer." I warned him as I laughed. I could tell he was trying not to smile. His face was now inches from mine and I really did want to kiss him. Suddenly everything got really serious and things slowed down.

As Luke's lips lightly brushed mine I got a great idea. I pretended to forget about the joking for a second and slowly deepened the kiss while at the same time I was casually bringing a pillow from behind me. Once I had it in the perfect position I quickly clobbered Luke upside the head with it.

His reaction was priceless and for a second he had no idea what was going on. I took this time to escape by attempting to roll off the bed ninja style. I misjudged where the edge of his bed was and tumbled onto the floor. I was laughing so hard I was crying.

It was the kind of laugh where you willed yourself to stop laughing because it hurt but you kept replaying what happened in your head and it just kept getting funnier.

Luke just smiled down at me from the edge of his bed as he shook his head. I could tell he was on the verge of laughing too.

"Real smooth Em real smooth." He laughed. For a while we just stayed like that, laughing at each other, and it was pure bliss.

I ended up spending the whole day with Luke. I can't remember the last time I've laughed this much this hard. We didn't even do anything special just being with him was enough.

I got a tour of the huge mansion which was beautiful. Every room had updated technology and everything was super modern which I wasn't expecting because of how old the outside of the house looked.

We didn't run into anyone while he showed me around and it was fun. My favorite room by far was the game room. I loved it. They had every old time arcade game you could imagine and even air hockey.

I convenienced Luke to let us stay for a while so I could play some of the games.

"You're such a kid." Luke laughed as he finally caved and allowed us to stay.

"But you love me." I smiled winking at him. He just shook his head with an amused smile.

"Yeah I can't deny that." He shrugged. I laughed as I ran over to him and kissed him on the cheek.

"We can go as soon as we play everything." I told him as I ran for the PAC Man machine. Luke rolled his eyes and sighed.

"The things I do for you." He smiled as he watch me curse at the machine when I died.

It took me forever to play everything and I needed Luke's assistance on basically every game. He didn't mind though, he seemed to enjoy just watching me get frustrated.

As we headed back to his room I checked my phone for the first time since I came over and my eyes grew ten times larger. It was 10 o'clock. How had the whole day passed already. I was a little bummed that my parents hadn't texted me to check on me yet. I hadn't spoken to them all day. Knowing them they probably left for some business thing out of town and forgot to tell me, its happened before.

I had been so distracted by that I forgot to pay attention to what Luke was saying.

"Emily, you good?" He asked, noticing I was being distance.

"Yeah I'm fine." I smiled, I knew the smile didn't reach my eyes.

"Um its getting late so I should probably go home." I said as we entered Luke's room. I just wasn't up for hanging out anymore. My nonexistent parents ruined my mood. Luke frowned and stuck out his lip like he was pouting.

"Aw man, can't you stay the night or something, it is Saturday after all." He pointed out. He was so cute, trying to get me to stay.

"Ryder would not be okay with that." I said as an excuse. I really didn't care how Ryder would react the thought of spending the night just made me nervous. What if he expected me to have sex with him or something, I was a virgin. I had told all my 'popular' friends that I wasn't but I was. Josh had tried to get me to give it up many times but I played it off each time. Luke was really sweet and probably wouldn't expect that from me but with him being a hormonal teenage boy I couldn't be sure.

"Fuck what Ryder thinks. If you want to stay you're welcome to stay." He said with a small smile. I felt a little reassured by his smile that it would okay. Plus if he is that type of guy better to find out now before our relationship gets too serious.

"Yeah okay." I agreed. He did a fist pump and I laughed, he was such a goof.

"Now if I'm sleeping over you know what this means!?" I asked excitedly. Luke gave me a confused look.

"What does this mean?" He asked. He was so cute when he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. Hell I think everything he does is cute to be honest.

"Movie marathon!" I said in a 'duh' tone. Luke just laughed at me.

"only you would be pumped about that." He laughed.

"Any specific movie in mind?" He asked. Of course I have a movie in mind, only the greatest movie of all time that you must watch at every sleepover.

"Of course! We have to watch The Notebook!" I laughed. Luke gave me a disgusted look as he thought about the 2 hours of torture I would put him through. I personally love The Notebook, its a great love story.

"Well this is gonna be awful." Luke joked.

"Come on let's go watch them in the theater. There's a popcorn machine down there." He said extending his hand to me so I could follow him. I grinned ear to ear.

"The fact we get to go to a movie theater makes this ten times more exciting." I squealed. Luke just laughed at my reaction as he led the way.
