I awoke to the sun shining brightly through Luke's bedroom curtains. I squinted at it before groaning and turning over. I reached for Luke and my heart sunk when I realized he wasn't there. Suddenly everything that happened last night came rushing back to me.

I checked the clock to see it was 9 in the morning. I didn't remember walking in last night so that must mean one of the guys carried me in. I was fine with that as long as it wasn't Drew.

I quickly got out of bed and got ready. I needed to get back to the hospital asap. I needed to be there when Luke woke up.

After I finished freshening up in the bathroom I began to get dressed. I decided to wear a simple pair of ripped jeans with my black crop top. I threw on one of Luke's flannels since it was a little chilly out. I slipped on my white converse to finish off my outfit.

Wearing Luke's flannel made me feel safe, it smelt like him and I missed it

Wearing Luke's flannel made me feel safe, it smelt like him and I missed it. I missed the feel of his arms around me and the comfort and security his touch always brought me. I sighed sadly before leaving his room.

I walked into the living room to find it empty. The kitchen was also empty. I checked my phone to see it was 9:43. I really just wanted to see Luke again. I bit my lip as I thought about what to do. I didn't want to wake the guys up but I really needed to go.
I decided to leave a note on the kitchen counter that I was going to the hospital and then grabbed Luke's keys. I knew Luke would never approve of this but I had no other choice and it was a good reason. I quietly closed the front door and fast walked to his car. I wanted to get out of there without anyone stopping me.

Luke's car roared to life and a small smile tugged at my lips as I cruzed out of the driveway. It rode just as smooth as I remembered. It was as close to driving on air as anything I've ever driven.

I drove 10 miles over the speed limit the whole way to the hospital. I had a weird feeling in my gut that I needed to get to Luke as quickly as I could. I couldn't explain it but something just felt off. I pulled up to the hospital in 45 minutes.

I quickly parked before basically running into the hospital. I took the stairs instead of the elevator so I could get there a little faster. I ran into Luke's room to find him still laying there in the same position as yesterday. I guess my gut was wrong. I slowly walked to his bedside and sat in the chair next to him. I gripped his hand again as a few tears fell across my face.

"Hey Luke." I whispered. My voice sounded really distraught and almost unrecognizable. Seeing him like this was chipping away at my heart and it hurt. I just wanted him to wake up and be with me again.

"I need you Luke, I need you so much it hurts, I can't do this without. I love you too much." I cried laying my head on his hand. I squeezed his hand and he squeezed mine back again. I almost got excited about it but then I remembered what Drew and the nurse had said so I continued to lay there with my eyes closed, silently crying.

"Em don't cry." Luke whispered in a raspy voice. My head popped up at the sound of his voice. His vibrant blue eyes were looking deeply into mine and a brilliant smile broke across my face. I couldn't even describe the joy and relief I felt in that moment.

"Luke." I said quickly getting out of my chair and throwing my arms around him. I squeezed him as tight as I could. Luke laughed at my reaction.

"Em calm down I'm right here I'm okay." He said stroking my head. Tears escaped my eyes as I kept my head pressed to his chest listening to his heart beat.

"Never do that to me again." I said looking up at him. Luke grinned at me.

"I wouldn't dream of it." He said silently wiping my tears and away.

"So do you really love me?" He asked smiling down at me. I laughed as I looked away from him.

"You heard that?" I asked interlocking our fingers. He nodded his head in response still smiling brightly at me.

"Yes Luke, I'm hopelessly and madly in love with you. I feel awful that it took a situation like this to make me realize it but I don't want to be with anyone else. I want you forever and always by my side. I've never felt like this about anyone. I love you Luke, I love you so much." I said.

For a while Luke looked at me with an unreadable emotion in his eyes. My heart started to sink as I thought about him rejecting me. Maybe I was moving too fast, maybe he didn't feel that deeply for me. I looked away from him and fiddled with his blanket as I tried to avoid his intense gaze.

Luke used his finger to turn my head to face him again. I reluctantly looked at him to see little crinkles by his eyes because he was smiling so hard. Just seeing him smile like that made me smile.

"I love you so much Emily I could never put it into words." He said before he kissed me so deeply I felt it everywhere. All my other thoughts just drifted away as I drowned in this passionate kiss.

After our really long kiss I texted the guys that Luke was awake and told them to hurry and get here. The doctor came in shortly after and did a standard exam on Luke. He said that he passed and was cleared to leave tomorrow morning if nothing changed.

While we waited for the guys to show up I curled up next to Luke and talked about anything and everything. I was so glad to have him here again I couldn't stop rambling. Luke just held me the whole time as I went on and on about what he had missed and what was going on with the Kardashions. I knew he couldn't care less but he didn't stop me.

"Oh and you'll never believe it but Kendall just--."

"LUKE!" Screamed Bryce as he ran in. I sat up next to Luke and shifted back into the chair. I never let his hand go the whole time.

"God we missed you." Landon said giving him a bro hug. Luke was really happy to see them and a smile never left his face.

"You had me worried bro, glad you pulled through." Ryder said stuffing his hands in his pockets. I knew it was hard for Ryder to express his emotions but his heart was in the right place.

"Where's  Drew?" Luke asked as he ran his thumb over the back of my hand. All the smiles fell off the guys faces at the mention of Drew. Everyone avoided eye contact.

"Um what's going on?" I asked pointing out the obvious mood change in everyone. I knew Drew was an ass but he was Luke's friend, he cared about him. Hell Luke almost lost his life for him.

"Drew um decided the gang life wasn't for him anymore so he snuck out and left us a note on his bed, he's gone and we don't know where he is." Bryce explained clearing his throat.

Luke's smile evaporated as he processed the information.

"Are you serious!?" Luke said looking around the room as if Drew was just hiding and waiting to jump out.

"Yeah man, we're sorry." Ryder said quietly.

"What a dick. We all risked our lives to save him and this is how he repays us!? I can't believe him, some friend he is." Luke said becoming angry. He subconsciously squeezed my hand a little harder as he frowned at his blanket.

I felt awful. Drew owed them for what they did for him and sneaking out on them isn't how he should repay them.

"Hey let's just forget him, he obviously doesn't care." I said trying to get everyone's moods back up. Luke and a few others nodded their heads in agreement with me. I plastered a smile on my face and began rambling again. Soon Drew was long forgotten and smiles were on everyone's faces again.
