Tris's POV

The noise in the cafeteria keeps getting louder every minute. I shut the book that I'm trying to read because I know that I'm not going to get any reading done. I look around the cafeteria and spot my brother at his usual table. He has a bunch of friends while I have none. I take my notebook out and start writing in it. The football players walk over to my table and sit down.

"Well. Well. If it isn't Beatrice Prior. You know. If you weren't so short, nerdy, and shy, you could be just a little bit cute," Ross, the quarterback, says.

"Can you just leave me alone?" I whisper.

"You want us to leave? But we're so tired," he replies.

"Then I'll leave," I say and grab my stuff.

I get up and start to walk off. Ross slaps my butt. The football players laugh, and I run out of the cafeteria. I stop in a hallway and slide down the wall. I let the tears slide down my cheeks. I hate school.

The bell rings, and I rush to my locker. I pack up my stuff and run outside. I get in my red Ferrari and drive home. I go inside and find Mom in the living room. I plop down next to her and lay my head on her shoulder.

"How was school?" she asks.

"Horrible," I whine.

"What was it this time?" she asks.

"Harassment from the football players again," I reply.

"I'm sorry sweetie. Hey. We have some family news. When your brother gets here, we'll share it," Mom says.

"Ok," I say and go up to my room.

I do my homework and start reading my book.

"Beatrice! Can you come down here?!" Mom yells.

"Sure!" I yell back.

I put my book away and go downstairs. I find Mom, Dad, and Caleb, my brother, in the living room. I sit down beside Caleb.

"Ok. So your Father and I have some news," Mom says.

"You better not tell us you're pregnant," Caleb says.

"No. I'm not pregnant. We're..........moving to Chicago!" Mom replies.

"What! No! I was just elected president of the student body!" Caleb whines. I'm just sitting there, shocked.

"We have to. Dad's job is moving him there, so we're moving there," Mom says.

"Beatrice. How do you feel about this?" Dad asks me.

"I'm excited!" I say and hug Mom and Dad. "When are we leaving?"

"Tomorrow morning," Mom replies.

I run upstairs to my room while Caleb is still complaining about the move. I start to pack my stuff. I'm so excited to leave Florida for a new start.
