Four's POV
I wake up earlier than usual. I take a shower and throw on some jeans, a grey shirt, and white sneakers. I grab my stuff and go downstairs. I sit down at the kitchen table, and Dad sets down our breakfast. I start eating.
"So. How are you feeling Tobias?" Dad asks.
"Ok. I guess. I just really hope Tris likes me. If she doesn't I made a huge fool out of myself," I answer.
"Sometimes you have to make a fool out of yourself. It helps build character. I was a horrible teenager until I made a fool of myself for your mother," he says.
"Well. If she doesn't like me, I'm going to tell her that hopefully we can be friends," I say.
"Good idea. If you can't have her as your girlfriend, you will need her as your best friend. Especially if you love her. Do you love Tris?" Dad asks.
"I don't know. I know I have strong feelings for her. But I don't know if it goes as far as love," I answer.
"Well son. I've seen the look on your face when you talk about Tris. If you don't love her, then you are close to it," he replies.
"Thanks Dad. I really appreciate this advice," I say and finish my food.
"You're welcome Tobias," he says.
I grab my stuff and walk out the door. I get in my car and drive to school. I go to my locker and get the stuff I need. I start walking down the hallway. I come across Tris sitting on the floor, reading a book. I sit down beside her.
"Hey," I say. Tris looks over at me.
"Oh. Uh. Hey Four," she says.
"Look. I know I confessed that I have feelings for you, and I do. But if you don't like me, and I'm fine if you don't, I hope we can still be friends," I explain. She gives me a small smile.
"Of course we can," she replies. Great.
"Do you know your answer yet?" I ask, full of hope.
"No. I'm sorry. I still have to think about it," she says.
"That's ok," I reply.
The bell rings, and I help Tris up off the floor.
"Thanks Four. I'll see you later," she says.
"Ok. Bye," I reply.
"Bye." She walks off. I walk to my class and get in there just in time.

The bell rings, and I gather all of my stuff. I walk to the cafeteria. I go through the line and sit down at the table. Tris sits down not long after. Everybody looks at her.
"What?" she asks.
"Nothing," they all say and go back to eating.
I eat my food. Ok crap. I forgot the guys and I have to do something. I remind the guys. We stand up.
"We promised Mrs.Johnson we'd help her stack the chairs in her classroom," Zeke says.
"We'll be right back," Uriah says.
We walk out of the cafeteria and to Mrs.Johnson's classroom. We stack all of the chairs in no time.
"Thank you boys. I really appreciate it," Mrs.Johnson says and pinches Uriah's cheeks.
"You're welcome Mrs.Johnson," Zeke, Will, and I reply.
"Yeah. You're welcome," Uriah says, rubbing his cheeks. We walk out of the classroom.
