Tris's POV
I wake up, and it hits me. Today is my birthday. My birthday has never been really important to me. I used to get bullied all of the time, and it didn't matter what day it was. My family would do amazing things for me on my birthday, but the bullying got to me. I never really enjoyed my birthdays. So I'm not to excited for today.
I roll out of bed and take a long shower. I get out and curl my hair. I put on a pair of black leggings, a black sweater that has 'Dreams Do Come True' written on it in white. I grab my stuff and slip on some comfy black boots. I run downstairs and sit down at the counter.
"Happy Birthday Bea!" Mom, Dad, and Caleb yell. They hand me a birthday muffin with a candle. They sing happy birthday to me, and I blow out the candle. I eat my muffin, and the doorbell rings.
"I gotta go," I say.
"Ok. Love you sweetie. Have a good day," Mom says, and I walk to the door. I open it to find Tobias standing there with a bag.
"Happy Birthday my love," he says and hands me the bag. I take it and
look inside. I pull out a black leather jacket."You're giving me your favorite leather jacket!" I exclaim.
"Yeah. I know how much you like it, so I wanted you to have it. It means a lot to me and so do you," he explains.
"Thank you Tobias. I love it. And I love you," I say and hug Tobias.
"I love you too," he says and kisses me softly.
"Well. Let's go," I say, and he grabs my hand. We get in his car, and he drives us to school. We walk into the school building, and I hear happy birthdays all around me. Tobias quickly goes to his locker and comes back to me at my locker. I gather my stuff and turn around. I see the gang running to me. Christina attacks me with a hug, and I hug her back.
"Happy birthday bestie!" Christina yells.
"Thank you Chrissy!" I say in the same sing-song voice.
Zeke, Uriah, Shauna, Marlene, and Will all tell me happy birthday. I thank them, and the bell rings.
"I will see you at lunch. Have a good day baby girl," Tobias tells me.
"Ok. I will. See you at lunch," I say. I kiss his cheek and walk to my first period with Christina.

The bell rings, and I walk to lunch. I go through the line and sit down at the table. But Tobias isn't here. That's very strange. I start eating, and everything gets quiet. I look up and see Tobias standing on the small stage."Can the birthday girl please come to the stage?" Tobias asks while smiling at me. I get up from my seat and walk up to the stage. Tobias grabs one of my hands.
"Tris. You are the most amazing person in the world. You're so different and unique. You're you all of the time. And that's why I love you so much. You make me want to be a better person. And I can't even describe how you make me feel," he says and gets on one knee. He pulls out a box.
"Now. I'm not proposing, but I do want to marry you one day. So. Tris. Do you accept this promise ring?" he asks and opens the box. I look at the ring. It's beautiful. I look up at Tobias with tears of joy in my eyes.
"Yes!" I say. He slips the ring on my finger, and I hug him.
"I love you so much," he whispers in my ear.
"I love you too Tobias," I whisper back. We pull away, and he kisses me. Everyone claps for us, and we go sit down. We eat our food and go to music class.
