Chapter 22: Unbroken

The bully stopped at our school after that. It was good to see Bethany finally silenced. Her group dissolved and they didn’t have any power after Zane and the rest of his friends left. I walked into the school two days after our party at David’s house. Anastasia found me first and we walked together to my locker.
“What’s up?” I asked her.
“I feel weird,” she said.
“Why?”
She shrugged, “I’m not the bully anymore. Everyone’s staring at me.”
“No they’re not.”
“Yes they are,” she said. “Look around. It’s weird. I don’t know what to do.”
“It’s just an adjustment,” I said. “You’ll be okay. It’s an adjustment for all of us because most of us aren’t used to being popular like this. We’re known as the group that officially stopped bullying in this school. That’s a big deal to people around here.”
“I guess you’re right.”
“It’s okay to be scared Ann, but you don’t have to hide anymore.”
“You’re right Mar.”
“Hey.”
I turned around and Jack was walking up to us.
“Hey,” I smiled. “How are you?”
“Good,” he said. “I like the change around here.”
I laughed, “Me too. It’s freeing.”
“It is,” He agreed. “How are you Anastasia?”
“I’m good,” she said, “But Mar I have to go find Kayla. I’ll meet you at lunch.”
“Okay,” I smiled. “See you there.”
“See ya.”
“I think she did that on purpose,” Jack smiled.
