Chapter 27: Give Your Heart a Break

“JACK!” I screamed down the hallway of school.
Today is our last day at school before Christmas break and my first day off of the grounding my parents put me on. Jack turned around and I ran full force towards him. I tackled him with a hug and wrapped my legs around his waist. He laughed and hugged me back.
“I think you just broke my back,” he laughed.
I hopped down, but kept my arms around his neck. “Do you know what today is?”
“What is today?” he asked.
“My first day off of being grounded!” I jumped up and down.
“I know,” he laughed, “And I like how excited you are.”
“I am,” I laughed with him. “What are we doing today?”
“I want to take some pictures.”
“Okay. Of what?”
“You.”
“Me? Why me?”
“Because I have an idea,” he smiled.
“Okay. Where?”
“In town?”
“Okay,” I nodded, “And what do I have to wear?”
“Anything you want, but dress to impress.”
“Okay,” I smiled. “Are you going to tell me what the pictures are for?”
“A Christmas present.”
“Aw you’re getting me a Christmas present.”
“It is Christmas after all, but I can’t tell you anything more than that.”
“Fair enough,” I said. “I’m excited.”
He chuckled, “I’m glad. I think you’re just excited that you can do something outside of your house and school.”
“That could be true,” I giggled, “but it also really helps that you’re going to be with me.”
“Does it?”
I nodded, “The whole boyfriend thing is really growing on me.”
He pecked my lips, “Good.”
“So what time are we going to do all this?” I asked.
“I’ll drop you off at home after school and picked you up at 4:30. Is that okay?”
