Chapter 7

The next few weeks flew by without any incidences, school went on as usual. There was a bit of a break the days the new students arrived. First was Abigail, a cute girl with emerald green eyes and brown curly hair.  She is actually really nice, and because she took the now vacant seat next to me in English, she and I have become friends. It is nice; I really didn’t have any girlfriends because most of the girls were intimidated by the boys. They liked to stare, and whisper, but not approach. Abby is different, she just snorted when Trevor acted like an ass, and told Cody that he should think about using his big boy voice. She has been incessantly pestering me about the homecoming dance, which is tonight. We walked in to English class, and took our seats.

“C’mon, you hafta go shopping with me! This is a formal!” she squealed in her excitement.

“I don’t know if you have noticed, but my entourage is not going to want to go shopping.” I sighed. “and Vladimir will burst a blood vessel if I went anywhere without them; besides, I am not going to the dance, just the football game.” Just then two girls walked in, acting as if they owned the place. I immediately disliked them. They looked like Barbie dolls. Complete with the fake boobs and spray-on tans. The thing that stands out the most about them; however, is the fact they are both werewolves. Their eyes locked with mine, and they frowned, taking me and the boys in. Ok, I am not sure, but it seems a bit too much for coincidence that so far this year we have had vampires, the fae and now some werewolves. What the heck is going on?

“OMG, they are soooo fake!” Abby whispers to me.

Just then Mr. Styles comes in, glancing around he looks at the new girls.

“I suppose you are the Duquesne Girls?” [A/N: pronounced /due-cane/] He asked.

“Yes sir, Tiffany and Ashlea,” they giggled, making me want to vomit. There was just something about them that annoyed me.  The one named Ashlea kept trying to flirt with Nick, but he was ignoring her. He has already asked Abby to the homecoming dance, and I think he is somewhat smitten.

“Ok, I realize the homecoming dance is tonight, and you will be completely unfocussed, I am giving you a free study period today, if you get too loud, I will make you read, so keep it down.” He took out his copy of that annoying sparkly vampire book and proceeded to highlight all the bad grammar and punctuation, shaking his head and mumbling under his breath about editors and proofreaders. I think he needs a hobby.

Abby was chatting away about the entire goings on at school when I picked up on conversation centered on Tiffany.

“Did you see that guy at the Vo-tech? I am going to have some of that, and you know I always get what I want.”  She said. The Group of girls she was speaking to started to whisper to her and I saw glances towards me. I believe she was just told who he is with. I smiled to myself.

“With her? She’s nothing.  Hah, I will make him forget all about her, he doesn’t stand a chance.” Her voice was pitched loud, so I would hear. I just rolled my eyes.

“ Ok, I will go shopping with you, I am still not going to the dance.” I have to let Vladimir know.

Vladimir?  I send to him.

Yes, princess, what do you need? His mental voice caresses me, making me shiver involuntarily.

I am going shopping with Abby, Trevor and Mack after school. Are you going to meet me at my room and walk me to the game, or are we meeting there?
