Chapter 10

**Julius**

Smiling, I stalk out of the alley. The look on Vladimir’s face when I dropped the glamour was priceless. All this time I was trusted, all this time I was privy to his secrets, feeding them to Darius, setting my plans in motion. Now he cannot stop me, I have ended the damned prophesy and entertained myself all in on fell swoop. I am getting excited thinking about his mate, Chloe. She looks so much like her mother. I let Frankie have Ellyn, and regretted it afterwards, taking solace in the fact the months before she died were not pleasant.  She had been my friend growing up. She was nice to me, even though I was a half breed.  I loved her and she betrayed me like the rest of them. I remember the day like it was yesterday.

I went to the barn, where I knew she would be, feeding the animals. I was going to tell her how I feel today. My fingers fondle the small box in my pocket, the only sign of my nervousness.  I saved up for this small token, something she could wear that told everyone she belongs to me. The ring was small and gold, a Claddagh Ring.  I rounded the corner, hearing giggles from the barn, and the sound of another boy, his deep voice echoing her laugh. I pushed open the door, to see her, and Patrick laying in the hay pile, their clothes in disarray and kissing. I just stood there, shocked. She saw me, and her smile faded. Patrick looked at me and smirked, why are you here, loser? He said; the sound of disdain clear in his voice.

Uh, I was just …um, I didn’t get the rest out, Patrick got up and started pushing me towards the door,  get the hell out of here, freak, we were busy, she doesn’t need you, she has me. He pushed me out the barn door hard enough to make me fall backwards, and then pulled it shut.  My heart broke that day, Ellyn did nothing, said nothing to defend me. I have loved her my whole life and she abandoned me for him. I got up and ran, my feet taking me to the river that ran beside our village. I pulled the box out of my pocked and threw it into the water, letting it be carried away, like my dreams of a life with her. Allowing the fury I felt consume me, I decided that day that they all would pay, especially her, especially Ellyn.

Well, Ellyn is dead, but I can have her daughter. Her father made sure she was pliable, weak and easy to push around. I will take such pleasure in raping her in front of Vladimir, the thought actually aroused me, a smile playing across my face.  I reached the car, and leaned against it, waiting for Darius to finish with Vladimir and join me.  A few minutes’ later two vampires exited the alley with Vladimir’s unconscious form draped between them. They put him in the cage in the back of a blue Dodge pickup truck, making sure to shackle him, using the silver infused chains  provided. I had them collar him as well, chaining him to the cage by the neck; I can’t be too careful. He is strong, and will be worth his weight in gold in the Arena. It is rare to get and elder wolf, and an Alpha to boot. I have seen Vladimir in the throws of blood-lust, and he is impressive. Once I have finished with his mate, I think I will make sure to kill her with some flare, in front of him.  Looking to my left, I see Darius.

“I haven’t seen you smile like that in a long time, and it’s a bit unnerving. What are you thinking?”  Darius asked.

“I am just thinking about the pleasure I will get with Chloe. You should be celebrating. Your retribution is at hand, you now have Vladimir, and he will suffer greatly at my hand.”  I take out a pack of Cuban cigars and hand one to Darius. I bite the end off and light it, taking a drag, and I watch Darius repeat the process with his. Blowing smoke into the air I think about out next step. I need to get Chloe. Pulling out my cell, I call the minions I have at the school, and tell them it is a go; take her right before dawn, it is the quietest time of the day, and the guards that Vash has stationed around will probably the most lax. I also remind them to watch for Kyle, that wolf has been a bit of an annoyance, he is a little more vigilant that the others.
