Chapter 11
I am watching again, only this time I am not tied to Vash. I can move outside. There is someone there in the shadows across the street. I see his face and I hear his internal conversation. Vladimir. That bitch is going to pay for sleeping with my brother. He thinks to himself. She is my toy. He will be upset when I take her. This thought makes him smile. I think he is planning to kidnap me, and it makes me nervous. His thoughts turn sexual and twisted as he imagines what he will do to me when I am his. He is becoming aroused and decides to call one of the many co-eds he has on call. I am sure someone wants an A. He chuckles at his little joke. I think he is just a little bit crazy. I watch him walk away and I break contact.
That was interesting, I am not asleep this time. I want to get out of bed to look out the window, but Vash is asleep, and when I try to move, he just pulls me back. I decide to give in and snuggle against his side, with my head propped up on my hand. He really is handsome, high cheekbones and a strong jaw. He is laying on his back, one arm around me and the other flung over his head. The blankets are twisted around his waist. His chest is well muscled and his abs are nicely defined, there is a line hair running from his navel to disappear under the covers. I touch his chest, running my hand from his collarbone down across his flat belly.
“Don’t do that unless you want to finish what you started.” He growls. I just smile at him when I see his grey eyes on me.
“I’m sorry, I just couldn’t help myself.” I say softly. He pushes himself up, rolling me onto my back, leans over and kisses me tenderly.
“I am worn out; you have to wait until morning. I need sleep.” He says, a slight smile turning up the corners of his full lips. He pulls me against him and the odd vision I had earlier was completely forgotten, as we drifted off to sleep.
The next morning I woke to the smell of coffee. I got out of bed and grabbed a t-shirt out of his drawer and slipped it on, noticing how it grazed the middle of my thigh. I padded out to the kitchen, following the smell. Vash was putting bread in the toaster as I walked up behind him and wrapped my arms around his waist.
“That smells wonderful” I told him. “I am starving.” He turned around and raised his eyebrows.
“You look much better in that than I do.” His eyes scanning my body, need reflected in his grey eyes. He kissed me and everything else was forgotten for the next hour or so.
Later, as we sat drinking our coffee, we talked.
“I have been having visions. Is this part of the werewolf thing?” I wanted to know. It was starting to freak me out. “I thought it had something to do with you, but, last night I saw Vladimir outside, watching this house, and I could hear his thoughts. It really has me scared because he was thinking about taking me and the sick things he was thinking about doing to me were disgusting.”
His look of surprise said more than words could. “How long has this been going on?” He asked. ‘That sounds like a telepathic trait, and that is a gift of vampires, not werewolves. We have a version of it in our pack communication, and we can mind speak individuals with concentration, but actually viewing what is going on and hearing thoughts without the person being aware is not possible for us. When did this first happen?” Vash queried, looking at me with narrowed eyes.
I blushed, and looked away. “The night you went to Tabitha’s.” I whispered. “I didn’t try it, and I couldn’t break away, you had to fall asleep. It was awful.”
