*Shiro's POV*

I awoke to my alarm ringing loudly in my ear and cracked an eye open to glance to the glowing red numbers. 6:00 AM. I sighed wanting to turn over and curl back into my sheets, but knowing my father if I didn't get in my morning practice I was going to have double the routine after school. Groaning I pulled myself out of my covers and walked over to my small dresser to pull out a black t-shirt and some black sweats to change into before heading to the dojo across the estate. It was a quiet morning, as I was the only one up at the moment. The normal classes didn't run until 8 which I would be long gone at school.

Settling down into a relaxing training mode I began running through my form over an over again slowly, getting it perfect with each strike. I always had to be perfect, if I wasn't perfect I was a disgrace.

I sighed again shaking my head. I never asked to be this way. I just wanted to be normal, well as normal as one could be being the son of a wealthy family.

After roughly 45 minutes of training, I finally stopped in order to get ready for another boring day of learning. Showering and getting dressed in the normal black slacks and button down white shirt with a powder blue blazer which I left open and a black tie which I left loose, I made my way to the front door. I thanked whatever higher power that I wasn't a girl; I felt bad for those poor girls having to wear those ugly banana dresses. It sent shivers down my spine just picturing it.

Sliding on my shoes and grabbing my bag I left to meet the car at the end of the driveway to get to Ouran Academy, a notorious school for the rich and famous. It was only 7:15, so there was plenty of time left until classes started at 8 to catch a few more minutes of sleep. I knew of an abandoned room that no one even knew existed in the far corner of the school, and what made it better was that it was as far away from screaming girls going goo goo for the Host Club.

When we arrived at the front gate I gave a short wave goodbye to the chauffeur who only gave me a glare in return before he drove off. It didn't really make a difference to me how he acted, it was always a normal way of treating me within my family and servants alike. There is a saying that some families have that one member who is a black sheep, well I am very much that black sheep and no one in my daily life has the slightest clue.

I was making my way to my usual room when I accidentally ran into a rugged looking boy about two years younger than me. He had shaggy brown hair, glasses and wasn't wearing the normal boys uniform.

"Sorry about that." I said helping him with the dropped items out of his bag "You must be the one who came on scholarship. Fujioka right?" The small boy looked up at me with wide brown eyes and it was easy to tell that it wasn't actually a boy, but a girl.

"Yeah I am, but how did you know that?" she answered standing back up and taking the folders that I held out for her.

"You're pretty famous around rich people. Not many scholarship students here. Also you aren't wearing a normal uniform." I said pointing to her rugged look.

"Oh. Well I'm Haruhi Fujioka. Nice to meet you-" she paused and I realized I didn't introduce myself yet.

"Ah my apologies. I'm Toshiro Nakamowa, but Shiro is fine. So can I ask something?"

"Sure, mind walking though I still don't know my way around."

"No problem I can show you around if you would like." Haruhi nodded and we started walking after I caught a glimpse at her first class. "So I wanted to ask are you cross dressing on purpose or do you just not care if seen as a boy or girl?" Haruhi paused an looked at me weirdly.

"The second one mostly, as long as I am seen for me being me than what gender I am I don't really care what people think of me." I nodded understanding the feeling.
