I could see him in the distance. He was looking around him. Looking for me.

He turned and saw me, his lips turning up into a giant smile. I felt a surge of happiness and ran to him. Jacob met me halfway, and we crashed together in a hug. In the hug I was met with the overwhelming scent of him.

After we hugged for about two minutes, I pulled away and saw Jaz standing beside him smiling at us. I opened my arms, offering a hug from her. She fell into my arms, hugging me so tight I could hardly breathe. I stepped back from the hug and gazed up at my boyfriend lovingly.

"I've missed you," Jacob needily pulled me into him, burying his face into my hair. I laughed and hugged him back.

As we walked to the car Jacob took a pretty little box out of his pocket and handed it to me. Inside was a silver ring with a little heart on it. I noticed on the inside, the word promise was engraved into it.

"It's a promise ring," Jacob said. I could feel eyes on me and looked up, my eyes meeting icy blue ones.

Luke looked away.

"I helped him pick it out," Jaz chimed in. So that's why they went shopping together.

I ignored the weird feeling and fumbled the ring around in my hands. It was simple, but gorgeous, and I loved it.

"Thank you. I love it," I leaned up and kissed Jacob's cheek.

Jaz urged me to put the ring on, and when I did, it fit perfectly.

The boys stayed home to unpack, and I drove with Jaz and Jacob to Jacob's house to get Maya.

I've never been to his house and now I'd be meeting his parents. And I didn't look my best, after being on  plane for 19 hours, so I could only hope they'd like me.

We walked up to the front porch, and I instantly stopped them.

"Wait, what if they don't like me?" I stressed.

"They'll love you," Jacob said as he unlocked the door and led us inside.

His house had a cozy and calm demeanor. The walls were tan, adorned with pictures of a perfect family, and the furniture were shades of white with brown. There was a full bookshelf to the side, with a rocking chair next to it.

A brown haired lady came out from the kitchen. She had a sophisticated, "done" look to her. She seemed kind of judgmental by the way she was looking me up and down, but I tried to ignore it. His dad came out next, with the same aura as the woman, and asked about a million questions about what I wanted to do when I got out of school and about my grades.

How was Jacob the goofy, loveable guy I knew with parents like that.

"Where do you plan on going to college?" his dad pried. "How are your grades?" He opened his mouth to ask another question, when Jacob interrupted him.

"We're going upstairs to go get her dog," Jacob said.

"She never introduced herself," his mom cried.

"This is Daisy," Jacob rushed out, then grabbed my arm and tugged me upstairs, Jaz hot on my heels.

"Maya's in my room," Jacob told me as we walked down the hall to his room. He opened the door and stepped inside, Jaz and I following.
