'The hell are you playing at Nina!' G shouted walking over to me. He grabbed my arm and pulled me aside from everyone so we could talk alone. I could tell he wasn't mad but he definitely wouldn't want me to do that again.
'I don't know! I just..' But I couldn't finish. I didn't know what to say because in all honestly I wasn't even sure myself why I had done it. I barely knew this Tony kid.
'Whatever Neen, ok? Just don't get hit, mum would go mental yeah.' He said leaning down and hugging me before ruffling my hair. 'Christ I was worried, thought he was gunna punch the daylights out of you! Nice punch though, guess all that fighting with me payed off huh?' he chuckled before shaking his head and walking off shouting 'love you Neen, be careful.'
I slowly made my way back over to the crowd of people. It was slowly dispersing but there were still a few stragglers left behind including Tony and Vic but surprisingly, no 'josh' his name was.
'Who was that?' Vic said nudging his head in G's direction and handing me back the bag I had laden him down with a few minutes ago.
'Oh no one.' I said quickly. I didn't fancy telling everyone my big brother came and saved me. 'Where's Josh gone?' I asked slightly worried that I'd get in big trouble for this.
'Oh right. Umm he ran off but don't worry, he won't tell anyone especially any teachers. He won't want anyone knowing he got his ass kicked by a girl' Vic smiled and winked at me. It made me smile and go all warm and fuzzy inside.
'Vic I..' I started. I was going to tell him how grateful I was that he had stepped in and saved me and even given me his jumper earlier but suddenly a swarm of girls all ran over to him asking if he was ok and telling him how brave he was. One girl , 'Rhi' I seem to remember her being called, ran up jumped onto Vic wrapping her legs and arms around him and shoved her lips against him. I couldn't believe it! He seemed so nice and he looked like such a slut! Huh, guess its always the same. I couldn't even get another word in so instead I just walked off towards tutor for another normal day at school.
I was walking away and was about to put my headphones in when I heard my name called behind me. It wasn't called loudly but I could just about hear it. I spun around secretly wanting it to be Vic running after me but no, he was still occupied it seemed. No to my surprise walking up to me saying my name was Tony Perry.
'Hey umm Nina isn't it?' He said still looking nervous.
'Yeah' I replied with a huge grin of my face. I was so glad be was finally talking to me. He could do with some friends.
'I just wanted to say thank you. Like I know you're new and probably don't even realise how much of a loser I am but still, it was really nice of you and I'd probably have a broken nose or something if you hadn't intervened.' He said looking me in the eye for the first time. Looking back at him I could see he had dried blood from the cut of his cheek and a bit of blood still running down his jaw from his split lip. It made me sad.
'Hey Tony, it's ok. And please don't say you're a loser ever because I don't care what people think about you, I think you're lovely and I don't even know you so fuck them ok?' I replied getting angry at the memory of josh punching him. He was so sweet.
'Hah, you won't be saying that in a weeks time. Not after everyone had turned you against me.' He spoke and he looked down again as if it was the sad but honest truth.
'Tony, I can't promise you won't get hurt again but if I'm ever there, you can say that whoever it is, is going to end up in hospital next time.' I said seriously. 'come on.' I said pulling on his arm. 'let's get your face cleaned up.'
