~~Nina's P.O.V~~

It was Wednesday evening and tomorrow was my birthday. I had literally had the week from hell. I had eventually found Jaime and he had said he wouldn't tell anyone but I could tell he was mad at me. I didn't know why. Tony had been ignoring me since and I hadn't spoken to him all week. I spent most of my lunchtimes and break times with Ellie and Emma seeing as they were some of the only friends I had that hadn't abandoned me but even Emma was away tomorrow. I had been getting glares off Rhi all week and I had no idea why, I'd never done anything to her.

'Happy Birthday for tomorrow Nina!' Emma said handing me a wrapped present and a card. 'sorry I can't be there! I hate having to miss it but mum insists on me going to this singing thing tomorrow.'

I smiled at the present she had just handed me, it was so lovely of her. 'Thank you so much Emma! And don't worry, I won't have a party without you!' I laughed.

'Open your present now!!' She pleaded.

'really?' I raised my eyebrows.

'Yes really, I wanna be here when you open it.'

I opened the card first, it was handmade and had loads of hilarious drawings over it. Emma was 17 but I was convinced she had the maturity of a 7 year old. The inside was hilarious too, she had written a poem that read:

"There was a cat

Who was called pat

That sat on a rat

With a heatproof mat."

I laughed for ages before finally opening my present. I pulled back the silver wrapping paper to reveal I black box and a CD. I opened the black box carefully and in there was the most gorgeous pair of silver sleeper earrings and a new nose ring. I had wanted them for ages. They were tiny little silver hoops and I had spotted them out in town to Emma ages ago and she had remembered. The CD didn't have a name on it.

'Its just a load of random songs you said you liked, there's like 50 on there. I don't have a list of what order they're in though...' She bit her lip.

They were amazing presents an I was really grateful so i pulled her into a hug. 'Thank you so much Emma it means a lot to me. I really appreciate it!'

'No problem, now let's get to Maths!'

I sat by Jaime which was less awkward than i expected we managed to chat for most of the hour and he seemed better with me now which I was glad. I missed him and Tony.

When I got home from school I ran walking into the kitchen to get some food; I was starving like usual when ingot home from school.

'Halooo' I said to mum and i popped up on the kitchen counter.

'Hello darling, good day?' He asked.

'Yeah, Emma got me these really nice earrings and a cd for my birthday because she's not here tomorrow.' I told her.

She smiled. 'How lovely. Lasagne for dinner?'

'YES PLEASE!' I love lasagne.

'Ok darling. I have to work tonight at the hospital and dads in Scotland with work. I'm sorry we wont be here tomorrow morning to say happy birthday but I'll cook something even better than lasagne for dinner tomorrow to make up for it!' She said. I didn't mind. I liked being home alone with George sometimes, though he just spends all his time in his room anyway.

I know it's my 18th I still wasn't that fussed over what I would do. I was still yet to decide.

I ran up to my room after dinner and saying goodbye to mum. It was pouring with rain outside but I didn't mind. I opened my window and let the fresh air in. It hadn't rained for ages and I really liked the smell of the rain after it hadn't rained for days, I couldn't describe it, it just smelt good and reminded me of when i lived in the countryside. I sat on my window sill and read until I remembered the CD Emma got me. It was already 9:30 but I wasn't tired so I put on my CD and started listening not knowing what songs were on there.
