A New Beginning

Chapter 12 : Eyepatch

My eye was horrible . It was really purple . I couldn't bare to look at it . I opened the cabinet and looked around for eyepatches . For some reason my family always buy eyepatches . I don't even know why . I found a grey eyepatch and put it on . I stared at myself in the mirror . I didn't know what to think . I kinda liked it and I kinda didn't like it . It felt itchy but I knew I would eventually get used to it . I wanted to be able to walk around the house with an eyepatch on so I was going to tell my father that I just wanted to wear it because it's cool .

I walked out of the bathroom and walked down the stairs . My dad was playing Alice Madness Returns . " Hey kidd-... Asuka why are you wearing an eyepatch ? " My dad questioned . " I just like it . I think it looks cool on me . " I answered . " Oh okay . " My dad said . My dad was very gullible . He believed almost everything I said . " Hey Asuka , I have to finish some work actually so do you wanna play for awhile ? " He asked me . " Sure ! I would love to ! " I replied with a smile on my face .

I grabbed the PS3 controller and logged out of my dad's account and logged into mine . I hit the play button . I then started the game . Alice was in the main menu looking fantastic with her long hair and her emerald eyes . God I was so excited to play . I hit start and had to watch a cutscene . A few minutes later the cutscene ended and I started playing as Alice . It was fun exploring the town until my dad came back . He had finished his work early . " Um sorry kid , but you gotta get off . I finished my work early . " He told . " Oh...okay... " I said sadly . I logged out and then decided to play some games on my phone .

In a matter of time , it was time for dinner . I got off my phone and say at the kitchen table . We were having steak . As I chewed on my steak my father asked me a question " Asuka do you know where your mother is ? I tired to call her earlier but she didn't respond . " He said . " No I have no idea where she is . I'm starting to get a little worried . " I said . " Don't worry . I bet she's fine . Maybe she's just working a really late shift . " My dad told . " Maybe... " I said quietly and softly .

After dinner I was exhausted . I just wanted to sleep . I climbed up the stairs and sluggishly walked down the hallway to my room . I opens the door and slowly closed it behind me . I then collapsed onto the bed and drifted into a peaceful sleep .
