Nate and I stand together once again, standing in front of the wooden door. This house was bigger than I had anticipated, Damien must be well off. If Nate and I were this well off then we wouldn't need anyone like Ra's and team Arrow. I look at the burgundy colored door, waiting for someone to open the door.
The door eventually opened to a little girl with dark brown hair and brown eyes. She resembled neither Nate nor I, which was very surprising as she was my sister and Nate's half-sister. "Hey, can I help you?," she asks, softly.
"We're here to see your mom and dad," I smile.
"Are you two dating?," she asks, referring to me holding Nate's arm.
"No," I laugh, "he's my brother."
"You don't look alike at all," she said referring to me having hazel eyes and brown hair vs Nate's aryan race physical characteristics like blond hair and blue eyes.
"Honey," I smile at her, changing the topic, "Can we come inside?"
"Sure," she brightens up, stepping back so we can come in, "My name's Vanessa, what's yours?"
"I'm Nathaniel, but you can call me Nate," Nate smiles at her friendly approach, then motioning towards me, "And this is Samantha, or Sam."
"It's so cool to meet you guys," she giggled, picking up a book from a coffee table in the living room and trotting off.
"This place is huge," Nate mutters.
"I know right," I agree, staring at it in awe.
"Thank you," Damien's voice echoes from the bottom of the stairs, "Please, make yourself at home."
I give him a blunt look as Nate and I take a seat on a brown leather sofa, sitting opposite Damien. Soon, a woman with long brown hair walked into the room. She was wearing a casual dress with her hair open. She resembled me, or I resembled her.
"Nathan. Samantha," My mother spoke, softly, tears brimming her eyes.
Nathan jumps up and holds her in his arms, tightly squeezing her. "You're just like I remembered," he muttered into her shoulder.
"I'm sorry," she mumbled back, "I didn't mean to leave."
"I know," he replied.
"Samantha," she said, holding her arms out for me.
I take the chance to embrace her but in the end, I feel nothing. I don't feel like she's my mother.
"I'm sorry," I speak into her hair, "but I don't know you."
"I know that I cant make up for the near twenty-six years I've lost with you, but I'd like to try," she said, wiping tears from her eyes.
"Mom!," Vanessa called, walking into the room, then calming down when she saw us, "Who are they, mom?"
She smiled, warmly, "Vanessa, they are your brother and sister."
"Oh," was all the little girl could say, processing the information, then walking over to us.
"At least give her a chance to be apart of your lives," Damien said, motioning Karen to get up and leave the room with him, leaving us with Vanessa.
"I'm Vanessa," she repeated, "I'm fifteen and go to Starling City High School."
"I'm Sam," I repeat, "And I'm twenty-seven."
"I'm Nate," Nate smiles, "I just turned twenty-nine."
"Wanna see what I can do?," she giggles, generating a sphere of electricity from the base of her palms. She then touches it with a finger on her other hand and the ball turns purple. She then closes her eyes and the ball molds into the shape of a bike. What surprises me is that she can actually ride the bicycle afterwards.
