Oliver's Point Of View

I had told Sam that I was going to go see Barry right now. After spending a day at her house, having her encircled within the firm grasp of my arms for the night, I had been thinking a lot. Sure, we didn't have sex, but it was decent having her with me. But my thoughts were overcoming. Especially about Connor, he had been the main topic in my brain.

He wasn't my son. The feeling I got was terrible. Absolutely horrendous. I felt as though a knife was jabbing through my heart. I put pieces together, counting dates and years, trying to put pieces together. Either she cheated on me while we were together or she's lying.

Whatever the case was, I took a strand of Connor's hair when I ruffled it in the morning while he was saying goodbye to us when going to school. I mean, he looked exactly like me!

When I got to Barry's, I couldn't wait another second of not knowing the truth.

"Hey, man," Barry daps me, "It's been ages."

"Yeah, it has," I smile, "I know that this may sound rude, but would you mind doing me a favor?"

"Sure," he smiles, "anything."

"Could you run a DNA test from these two hair samples and tell me if they match?," I give him a the strand of Connor's hair and one of mine. I needed to know for sure till someone made a huge deal about it.

I was mainly concerned for Felicity's response and how she was going to hold up if she knew that I had a son with my ex-girlfriend. Ugh, that word, 'ex-girlfriend'. That word wouldn't have made my blood churn if it wasn't Sam on the other side. Inside, I needed her, I loved her.

The term doesn't apply to Sam, she's still my Sam. She'll always be more than a friend to me, no matter what. She made me realize my code and what I was fighting for exactly. It was her who had made me who I am today. She was my first love after Lian Yu and I wish she'd been my last.

"Sure," Barry smiled, taking the samples and putting them inside a decoding machine. He pushed a few buttons and clicked his tongue, "This is going to take a few hours, come by later if you want."

"Thanks, Barry," I nod, walking out of his lab, "And keep this between us?"

"Sure!," he called out, noticing me walk away.

I had let frustration take over me, the feeling of uncertainty to be frank. It had gotten to a point where I questioned my trust for Sam. She didn't even tell me she had a son, or that she was even pregnant. I wish she'd talk to the team, to her brother. He had been waiting to see her for the past six years.

"There you are," I heard Sam's voice call, but it wasn't for me. I looked up to see her hugging another man.

"Hey, Sam," he smiled. I disliked him already.

"I wanted to ask you if you'd be coming around later?," she asks, slightly turning her head to the side.

"Yeah," he nodded, "Why, is there a problem?"

"No," she shakes her head, "not at all. There's just an old...friend staying at my house for a couple of days, so I thought we could raincheck?"

"I understand," he chuckles, "No problem."

"Thank you so much," she grabs his arm and leans into him, placing a kiss onto his lips. In that exact moment, my heart shatters to a million pieces. It feels as though half of me was obliterated.

"It's alright, have fun," he laughs, kissing her one last time before walking away.

My eyes follow her every movement. She reaches down the pocket of her coat and takes out her phone, beginning to dial a number, before putting the phone to her ear.
