The Aftermath

I open my eyes and see Calum's arm wrapped around my waist. How the hell did he get there? I check to see that my clothes were on, and thank god they were. 

"Psst" I nudge Calum, "Pssssst" 

He wasn't waking up. 

"CALUM!" I shout, causing him to jump. 

"Why do you always do that?!" Calum complains. 

"Because you don't wake up!" I reply, "Now why are you cuddling me?" 

"Hmm?" Calum rubs his eyes before opening them, "Oh shit ... Oops I-I went to go pee and then ya' know" 

"Whatever you say Cal" I tease before getting up, "I've gotta go to uni today" 

It was Tuesday and I had my first class at 12:40 and it is currently 11:00. 

"Aw can I co-" Before he could even finish his sentence, Calum was down the hall way and into the bathroom. 

I run downstairs and get a him a glass of water, with two panadols. I run over to the bathroom and set the glass of water and the pills on the bathroom sink. I rub my hand soothingly across Calum's back, as last night's alcohol took its effect. I wait for him to clean himself up before giving him the water and tablets. I lead him back to his room and lay him down. I get a face towel and soak it in warm water, I return back to his room and set it on his forehead. 

"Stay here and rest, I'll be back at 2" I tell him, "Don't worry I'll bring food with me" I take my bag.

"But I wanna come with you" 

"Really? You want to come with me to uni? What has those shots done to you?" I gasp, "I'll be back, stay put" 

"Have fun at uni" He calls, before I close the door behind me. 

I walk over to Mali's room and see that she wasn't there. I walk downstairs and see Mali sitting outside on the steps of the front porch. I pick up my car keys off of the counter top and walk outside. 

"Hey Mali" I greet her and take a seat next to her. 

"Hey Dee, is Calum okay?" She smiles before taking a sip from her mug.

"Yeah he's fine, those shots took their effect but" I chuckle.

"Lightweight drinker I suppose" Mali teases. 

There is a moment of silence and then I see a look of sadness on Mali's face. 

"Hey, what's up?" I ask her. 

"Huh? Oh nothing ... I-it's just, I can't believe that I don't feel nothing at all at the fact that Stephen and I broke up. I mourned for about a day but then that was it? Six years of what I thought was love and - and I feel nothing?" Mali says, fiddling with her hands. 

"Maybe it's because Stephen wasn't really the right one, he, he was just a distraction before you could meet THE one" 

"Are you talking about Xavier Andie?" Mali faces me. 

"Only if that's what you want me to be talking about, I can't make up that decision for you, but it will take time, if love is real love you will hate him to the point where you can't stand him but you still don't leave him because you know that he's the only one that will make you feel the way you do" I babble on. 

Mali starts to chuckle. 

"What are you laughing about?" I giggle. 

"I-it's just that, that's the exact same look and you said the same thing that Calum told me, you two have something special Dee"
