Exercise

"I'm about to cough up a lung" Calum catches his breathe as he sets me down on the grass.

I sit down and cross my legs, Calum taking a seat next to me and lying down flat on his back.

"You hobo" I throw my sunglasses at him.

"Thanks Dee, it's nice to know that even though I'm dying over here and carried you all the way to this park you'd still call me hobo"

"I'd call you a hobo even if you were in the hospital with a broken leg" I make fun of him a lot, one of my traits I suppose.

"You can walk yourself back to my place"

"I was planning on doing that but thanks for the invite!" I tease, poking his forehead.

He slips my sunglasses over the top of his.

"You got enough sun protection there Cal?"

"Just about, but it's still too sunny, go away"

"Why?"

"Because you brighten up my world too much" Calum lifts up his sunglasses and winks at me, giving me a cheeky grin.

"Goddamn it Cal" I push his sunglasses back down and shove him over.

"I never lie" Calum smiles.

"Get up" I grab his arms and pull him up, "I'll race you to the swings!"

I bolt down towards the playground, I'm about 10 metres away when Calum jumps on my back.

"I carried you! Now you carry me!" Calum commands, putting his arms around my neck.

"You're a giant Calum!" I try my best to get his legs at least 10cm off of the ground.

"You know for a small person, you've got a lot of muscle" Calum comments, patting me on the head.

"Well if I don't get to that swing any time soon I'll be walking on an angle for the rest of my life" I walk faster towards the swing.

I drop Calum on a spot next to the swing, before collapsing onto it.

"No more exercise for the year" I pant, gently swinging.

"Like you were going to anyways" Calum jokes.

"I would make a comeback but that's just too true for me to tell a lie" I reply as Calum chuckles.

He steps behind me and starts pushing me gently.

"So ... are you still going on that date with Nick"

Of course.

"I've gotta say Cal, you had me fooled! I thought we were here just to have a good time but these past 3 days, I knew something fishy was going on" I plant my feet on the ground and stand up to face Calum.

"What do you mean? I'm not doing anything!"

"C'mon Calum, the flirting, the cuddling and now we get to the place where we had our first kiss! Don't tell me there's nothing going on"

"Me? Flirting with you? Do you not remember the fact that we broke up? If you're taking my smartass attitude and thinking that it's flirting, then I don't know what kind of a friend you are"

"I'd only take it as your smartass attitude if it were Calum. What kind of best friend are you huh? You trick me into thinking that this was just going to be fun but all that you wanted was for me to cancel my date with Nick huh?!"

Calum's face drops, "I-I don't know what you're talking about"

"Of course you don't" I run off.
