Welcome Home

"Hey Mali, I'm on my way over to yours, what time will Calum be back?" I'm on the phone with her while she's at the hospital. 

I'm in my car, supplied with all of Calum's favourite things so I could get his room set up when he gets back to his place from the hospital. 

"Uhh, the doctor said at around 6 so about half an hour?" Mali replies. 

"Okay cool, see ya soon" I hang up the phone. 

I pull into the driveway from Calum's place and reach into my backseat to get out the four bags filled with things for him. I lock up my car and then walk to the front door. Seeming how my hands are all full, I headbutt the doorbell and with the first try the music sounds. 

"Sup Dee" Ashton greets me, taking the bags from my hands. 

"Are the other two at the hospital with Calum?" I ask him, following him up the stairs to Calum's room. 

"Yep" Ashton grunts, "Jesus christ what did you buy?" 

"If I stayed in Target any longer I think I would have bought the entire DVD, chocolate and stuffed toy section" I sigh as we walk into the room. 

"Well good thing you left, or my arms would've fallen up by now" 

"What happened to the whole thing about the drummers being the strongest in the band?" I sass him. 

"Want me to help you or not?" Ashton drops the bags on the floor and puts his hands on his waist.

"Help me fix where you're all sleeping tonight then Mr. Hulk" I pat him on the back. 

"That's what I thought" He says before walking over to the cupboard in the hallway that had all the spare pillows and linen. 

I take out all of the DVDs and games and put them on top of the tv stand. When I was at Target I passed the stuffed toy area and trust me, it took me so much to not buy everything there, so I just settled with one Mickey mouse pillow pet, one Minnie mouse pillow pet and 4 stuffed teddy bears. I tried to get the four bears to resemble the band's hair (I chose a rainbow coloured bear for Michael seeming how his hair changes every 5 seconds). I throw the stuffed toys onto Calum's bed. Ashton returns with arm fulls of pillows and blankets. 

Ashton drops the items onto the floor in front of the bed, "I think that should be alright for the three of us tonight" 

I look down at the heap of fluffy pillows and blankets. Diving into it must feel like diving into a pit of feathers on clouds. Ashton helps me to fix up the space and make it look even more comfortable. The reason why we're doing all of this, is sort of 'welcome home' celebration, well more of a 'thank god you're not dead' sleepover. Just as Ashton sets down the last pillow, I hear a car horn from outside Calum's window. 

"Let the sleepover begin!" Ashton announces before we run downstairs to open the door. 

"Is it all fixed up?" Renee (Calum's mum) asks as she gives me a kiss on the cheek. 

Ashton runs passed me to go and help everyone else get Calum out of the car. 

"Yep" I smile before taking Calum's bag from Renee. 

"Thankyou" She nods before walking into the kitchen. 

I walk outside and see Calum getting out of the car with his crutches and Ashton pulls out the wheelchair from the boot. 

"Wanna use this?" Ashton asks, offering up the wheelchair. 

"Nah, it's a short walk anyways" Calum replies before walking over to me, "Hey" He puts his face really close to mine. 

"Hey" I reply looking up into his eyes. 

"You look extra beautiful today" He smiles. 

I look down at what I'm wearing, "So you prefer your hoodie and a pair of trackies over my usual put together outfits?" 

"You killed the moment" 

"Sorry! It's a habit" 

Calum chuckles at me before leaning down and kissing me on the lips. 

"Break it up you two!" Michael claps as he walks passed us. 

We pull apart and mouth profanity at Michael. Running away really quickly is his response. I walk behind Calum as he enters the house.

I lay in Calum's arms, trying to put as little weight on him as possible, while we watch 21 Jump Street. Michael, Luke and Ashton take their usual spots on the floor in front of us, barely making any noise except for occasional laughter and crunching noises when they ate. Calum kisses my forehead, then trails down along me cheek, down my neck and across my collarbone, the tip of his tongue leaving its trace. 

"I love you" He whispers into my ear. 

"I love you too" I shift my face upwards to face his and kiss him, "You should get some sleep, you must be tired"

"I should but I'm not, we ARE watching 21 Jump Street" He replies before leaving a kiss on my nose, "Thankyou for all of this"

"You're welcome, after all I did need a way of making it up to you" I smile. 

"Well you're forgiven" He whispers back. 

We resume watching the movie, before I dose off into sleep while Calum strokes my hair. 

*CALUM'S POV* 

One by one, Dee, Michael, Ashton and Lue fall asleep. The credits of 21 Jump Street begin to roll along the screen and I turn off the TV. I get myself more comfortable and cover Andie with a bit more of the blanket. As I close my eyes I hear a buzz come from her phone. I know I shouldn't look at it, but it's most probably her Dad. I reach over her to get to the phone and pick it up. I tap in the passcode and open up the message. It's not a message from her Dad, but from a Director at NYU. 

FROM: Director Murphies (NYU) 

'Hey Andie, I hope you're still up for the offer. Don't forget the plane leaves on Friday at midnight. Hopefully we will see you at the airport.' 

I lock the phone. The offer at NYU. She needs it. She needs to live out her dream. Andie enjoys engineering but I know that she doesn't want to live the rest of her life doing it. Friday is in three days. Well technically 2 now seeming how it's one in the morning. I'm getting her on that plane. 

Since holidays are around the corner, I'm going to put 110% more effort into this fanfic and so far I hope you're all enjoying it! I LOVE YOU ALL <3 xxx
