"Four more Muggle disappearances"

"Two French schools cleared of students"

"Fears of  abnormal Giant activity in Eastern Europe"

"This makes me feel ill" Lily muttered, her face covered by the paper. On the front a large moving, ghostly skull was floating in the air like smoke, a snake head sliding its way through the mouth. It was hanging over a small brick cottage, crumbling over itself and onto the footpath, the edge of the staircase visible through the open roof.

James squeezed her shoulder but let go quickly. I ignored them, reading over my notes for arithmetic. My eyes could feel a soft strain, leftover from last nights 12am reading, but I ignored it, squinting at the numbers floating in front of me.

"Are you ok?" Sirius chuckled, poking my back as he sat down next to me.

"You're in a good mood today" I raised an eyebrow, ignoring his question.

"Yes well, I've got my essay done, made notes on Herbology, and there's so much bacon on the table right now"

"Bacon is terrible for you"

"Bacon is protein"

James nodded his head slowly.

"Gains brother, gains" He winked and I grinned.

"This is not the time to be joking!" Lily slammed the paper in front of them,"People are dying!"

I leaned over with the rest of them. Sirius' grin turned into a frown.

"Surely there's got to be some kind of fight, what the hell is the Ministry even doing, sitting on their pretty asses all day"

"You know, I thought they would be getting something together by now"

"Like an army!"

"James, we don't need an Army" Lily rolled her eyes.

"Why not, we can be the resistance or something" James' glasses nearly fell off as he swung around to face her.

"We? We haven't even finished our exams, let's not think about joining a freaking army?" Lily snickered, clearly not taking him seriously. James however turned back to face us, a twinkle in his eye.

"What are you thinking" I narrowed my eyes, watching him closely.

"Well what about it, surely there's people out there, doing something to help-- we can't be the only ones thinking about this, or at least the only ones worried about it"

"Course not! I bet you anything there's some secret thing going on in the Ministry" Sirius leaned in further, expression matching James'.

"Do you reckon? It'd be difficult to get something together under the media"

"They are the media" I snorted, swallowing my toast whole, "Anyway, there's no point thinking about that now when we have exams in a month. We need to get going"

"But we have a free this morning!" James slumped dramatically.

"I don-" Lily started promptly but was cut off by Sirius' whining.

"You sound like a small dog, shut up and get up, we're studying" I pulled him up by the collar and pulled him over the seat.

"Well like that's surprising, being canine and all" Lily rolled her eyes, grabbing her books and stuffing them into her rucksack.

"James!" Sirius hissed, "Just because she's your girlfriend-"

"Seri knows!"

"Seri already knew!"
