Seri was released Saturday morning, early on her request so she could scramble upstairs and proclaim to the dorm that she was back and as captain they'd better get their fucking arses out of bed before she jinxes them.
The chill of the castle had made its way into the Great Hall and soon everyone was rugged up before they had even left the common room. Quidditch was the only thing on everyone's mind and Seri was no exception, regardless of being in a possible coma for a week.
"... and when t-"
"The beaters move in, drop the ball down- we've got it Seri, ok?" James patted her on the back and gave her a reassuring smile as they made their way towards the change rooms,
"It's only against Hufflepuff anyway" he added with a wink and she shoved him away playfully, giving him a scornful look.
"I'll be shouting at you from the stands!" she called after him as I pulled her away from the team.
"I don't doubt it!" James called back, waving her off along with the rest of the team.
"They'll be fine, James is a better captain than you give him credit for you know?"
"I know I know, shut up Sirius" she mumbled as we reached the pitch and started on the stairs, "I just want to be out there"
"I know, but I guess you're just stuck with me now aren't you?"
she sighed dramatically, "I guess I sadly am"
We made our way across the stands of people covered in red and gold, along with numerous umbrellas and found Lily and Remus huddled towards the back.
They stopped talking once we arrived and Seri and I shared a look.
"What's going on?" Seri narrowed her eyes at Lily.
"Nothing, I need to go speak to Mary, see you guys later!" Lily said quickly, smiling at us before rushing off down the stands. We both turned back and stared down Remus.
"What?" he said innocently, leaning back against the stands.
"Don't play dumb, what's going on?" I glared down Mooney.
"Nothing" he hummed, not looking either of us in the eye.
"I come out of a coma and this is how my friends treat me?" Seri looked convincingly distressed, collapsing on the stands beside him but Remus just rolled his eyes.
"Oh don't be melodramatic, I am allowed to have private conversations with friends you know"
Seri huffed out in defeat and crossed her arms, facing the field. I rolled my eyes and went down to the edge of the stands to get a good look at the two teams getting ready to play. They were hearing the rules at the moment, the only way I could tell was because James looked like he was falling asleep on the side of the pitch.
"Hey guys might-" but I stopped mid turn towards Seri and Remus to realise one of them had gone.
"Where's Seri?" I asked, worry immediately coming down on me.
"She got a message from Dumbledore, I don't know when she'll be back" he shrugged and stood up to join me at the barrier. This was going to be a long match.
~Seri~
"You wanted to see me?" I asked, still closing the door of Dumbledore's office.
"I did indeed, please have a seat" he gestured to some stools to the side of the room and I followed his instructions quietly.
"Is there a reason for the other chairs?" I said finally, watching him put away books left across his desk.
"Yes, but in no relation to you I can assure"
I nodded slightly, not really paying attention as I scanned his office. It wasn't very different to the first time I was here. I latched my eyes onto Fawkes. fascinated, I walked cautiously over to him and watched as, after a couple of minutes, a new head poked through the fallen ashes.
"Most people would be quite shocked to see that for the first time" Dumbledore spoke calmly, a twinkle in his eye as he watched me with apparent interest, "but you're not most people, are you?"
"Perhaps not" I murmured, looking back at Fawkes one more time before moving in front of his desk. He smiled at me before taking a seat.
"Now, as I'm sure you're very much aware, I did not ask you here simply for a leisurely chat" when I didn't respond he continued, "Ever since you arrived I have also been aware that your presence here was an oddity, something unplanned per say"
"You could say that"
"You could, yes, but I happen to think that there was some reason you were pushed into this timeline and out of your own"
"How do you-" I started, eyes wide and worried.
"No need to fret dear girl, I was merely making an observation, it is quite clear that you are not from this era, no?"
"I am not, no" I said slowly, watching his reaction carefully.
"Therefore either you were put here or you are being brought back, what we need to figure out is which one"
"You mean... I could be originally from here?" I whispered, my mind buzzing with the new information.
"Or you could have been pushed here. Either way, after what you told me about that fainting episode of yours, it is quite clear what is happening now" he looked at me expectantly with wide blue eyes and I understood immediately.
Now, someone is trying to pull me back.
"So what do we do?".
