I stared at her, eyebrow raised slightly, watching her attempts to calm down.

"Welcome to the team" she finally managed, grimacing and taking a seat next to the Ravenclaw perfects.

"Don't strain yourself" I said pleasantly before turning to the rest of the group, "right, so I am head boy, just as Lily so kindly pointed out to you all, and I would hope Dumbledore was in the right state of mind when he decided on who will be who" I smiled pointedly at Lily before continuing, "as I am hoping you are all ready and willing for the job"

"Yes, and there are a few rules we would like to go over before we hand out rosters and start on carriage patrols" Lily had seemed to finally compose herself and stood up next to me as we finalised any questions and queries people had.

"Are you two in the same house?" A Ravenclaw boy chirped from the corner of the carriage.

"Um, well yes, yes we are, why do you ask?" Lily looked fairly uncertain.

"No reason" The ravenclaw chirped, smiling at us both.

Lily narrowed her eyes but said nothing to him.

"Right, well, you two: get started on patrolling the corridors and the rest of you, make sure you memorise those timetables or I will personally come and find out why you aren't following roster, all clear?"

"Crystal" The many, overly-cheerful sixth graders chanted.

"Good, now off you go"

They all filed out, nodding their heads and smiling at us on the way out. I'm pretty sure one of the Hufflepuff girls even winked at me as she left. I turned to leave but Lily grasped onto my arm and pulled me back.

"What?" I questioned her, raising an eyebrow.

"I-I'm" She seemed slightly lost for words.

"Spit it out"

"I'm sorry for how I reacted before, I mean I just, didn't expect, you, um" She rambled slightly but I cut her off.

"I understand, I mean with all of my pathetic actions, who would have thought Dumbledore would pick me?"

And with that, I left her to stare at the back of my head as I returned to my previous carriage with a huge grin growing across my face.

"Come on, Seri!" I whined, lengthening my vowels in an attempt to get Seri to talk. It was a few weeks into the school year and I was truly offended that she hadn't let me know.

"I have nothing to tell you!" she sighed, turning the page of her charms book, furrowing her brow whilst reading over a paragraph about memory charms.

"I hate these charms" She muttered quietly, changing the page and looking up at me, "Why are you still staring? I swear there's nothing to tell you!"

"I know you like someone Seri! It's written all over your face!" I persisted, leaning in closer and shutting her book.

"How on earth could you know a thing like that? It's written all over my face, yeah sure" She scoffed, pulling the book out of my reach.

"So you do like someone" I grinned, I knew I could catch her out.

"No, I didn't s-" She stuttered, but I just kept grinning.

"Tell me all about him"
