~Seri~
I walked downstairs in a slightly awed state. Walking into the common room was like being in a dream. I moved around the room, watching as the portraits hanging up moved ever so slightly in their sleep. As much as I had read all about it there was something very bizarre about seeing anything move in a painting. The room was empty, likely because it was still early, and there was the smell of a fire having just gone out filtering through the room.
A door slammed above me and someone could be heard moving quickly down the stairs. I turned to see Sirius's grinning face behind me.
"Ready to go?" I asked eagerly, standing up and starting towards the portrait hole, Sirius right on my tail. We walked down part of the hall in silence, Sirius scuffing his feet noisily across the floorboards.
"You sure know how to keep up a conversation," I said, chuckling slightly.
"Yeah, I can feel the sparks already," he said in a mocking tone, receiving a scowl from me.
"Hey!" he said, eyebrows raised. "I didn't say I hated you."
After a couple more minutes, he began to stride ahead of me, almost racing me down the hall. We finally reached Professor McGonagall's office and I paused before knocking on the door, still slightly out of breath from the journey there.
There was a strong part of me very much still telling me that this wasn't real, that any moment now I would wake up at home being yelled at for sleeping in too late. Well may as well take advantage of it then.
Sirius leaned around me and knocked on the door. It opened almost immediately, and I was suddenly staring up in to the beady green eyes of Professor McGonagall.
"Good morning, Mr Black, to what do I owe the pleasure." She seemed relatively annoyed at being disturbed, not not wholly surprised. She looked over towards me and I gave her a sheepish smile.
"And who might this be?" she asked, staring me down, "I have never seen you in any of my classes before."
"This is Seri," Sirius said, "and she needs to see the Headmaster."
Professor McGonagall's beady eyes turned back to him, narrowing.
"And why would that be," she asked. Sirius looked a bit lost.
"Well..." Sirius started but I cut in for him.
"I just climbed through a mirror into the Gryffindor common room. And am pretty sure I'm dreaming, but we'll find out." I gave her my best please-believe-me smile. McGonagall continued to watch me for a few seconds.
"Yes, yes, that would probably be best. Follow me please." She took off at a stride nearly as fast as Sirius's. We winded through the castle, my stomach doing flips over and over as we waited for a moving staircase and I could see the whole way down towards the Great Hall. Portraits were beginning to wake up at the sound of moving feet and McGonagall's wand lit and I couldn't help but spin around to watch them move as we passed. By the time we reached two stone gargoyles in the wall, I felt giddy.
"Cockroach clusters," Professor McGonagall called out towards the gargoyles and they bowed, opening up to reveal a large spiralling staircase with a phoenix sitting in the centre Sirius and I trooped up behind Professor McGonagall and stopped nervously in front of the grand entrance doors as she knocked twice on them.
"Come in," said a deep voice from within and the doors opened to reveal a huge office, full of different odd looking devices and enough books for a small library. I had a sudden urge to run around and touch everything in sight but settled instead to just letting my eyes wander where they may.
