I edged cautiously towards the mirror, my heart beginning to race. Sirius was still in the same place staring curiously at my every move, I sighed when I realised he was standing directly in front of the mirror. I stopped and he looked up at me, worried.
"It would help if you moved back a bit," I pointed towards the mirror, raising an eyebrow. He moved back and gave a small apologetic smile. I took a deep breath and stepped into the mirror. I closed my eyes as the feeling of cold water running down my back made me shiver, only opening my eyes when it stopped.
It took me a few seconds to realise that I wasn't in my bedroom anymore.
"What the actual hell." I muttered, walking slowly around the room, aware that Sirius was watching me with a huge grin on his face. I turned towards him.
"Ok...so either this actually is real, or I'm having an extremely vivid hallucination," I said
"Well I'm pretty sure it's real, but that could be your mind talking couldn't it." He grinned mischievously at me and I had to remind myself not to hit people you've just met.
"Of course," I laughed, a little nervously, and turned towards the door, "so we would be in your dorm, right?"
"Yes, and I don't know if you should go out there yet, as there would be three sleeping and easily surprised boys," he said grinning. I grinned back at him.
"All the more fun then, isn't it." I walked over to the door and slowly crept out into their room. I heard Sirius come up behind me.
"Woah... ok, so that's James." I muttered to myself, looking to the mass of messy black hair protruding from a bed to my right, "and Remus."
I walked towards a bed in the back corner where there was a boy with honey-coloured hair and scars covering his face.
"Soooo." I hummed, turning towards the last bed, "that must be Peter."
I turned back to Sirius who was staring at me in surprise and shock of my little ramblings. I froze for a moment, opening my mouth to try and explain but he got there before me.
"Merlin's beard, are you psychic or something?" he said, now staring at me in a slightly awed state.
"Not exactly" I swallowed hard, cursing myself. Probably should have thought about this before you went naming his friends.
"I just um..." How to put this, " know a bit about you guys?" I finally said.
Thankfully it was dark so he couldn't see my cheeks flushing brightly. I didn't exactly feel it was appropriate to suddenly admit that he seemed to be one of my favourite book characters, and I just happened to know almost everything about him and his friends.
"Right," he still looking rightfully suspicious, "so what else do you know then?"
I wondered how much I should tell him.
"Well... I know you're all animagi..." I started, staring at him cautiously before continuing. "Well, except for Remus because he is an um... a werewolf..."
I stopped there to see what affect that had on him. He looked slightly stunned but eventually motioned for me to continue.
"I know- hang on, what year are you in?" I suddenly realised that certain things wouldn't have happened yet. Messing with time seemed like a thing to avoid at this point.
"5th year," he replied, still staring intently at me.
"Ok... so then I know you four call your self the Marauders. Do people actually call you that by the way? Bit of a mouthful." I took in a breath and didn't wait for him to respond, "Anyway, you made a map of the whole school and everyone in it, and... um James is in love with Lily Evans? But she's friends with a Slytherin Snape- no, Severus and you, you know kinda hate him?"
