~Seri POV~
"Four turns should do it" said a familiar deep voice. I turned to see Dumbledore talking to all of the champions, winking at me when I finally took in where I was.
It was ridiculously early in the morning and I was still half-asleep and probably about to find out a way to sleep standing up. Dumbledore handed us all the time turners.
Luckily, I didn't really have to pay much attention to the rules and regulations of using them, as I seemed to remember reading about Hermione's attempt to attend 17 classes at once, and Draco being punched in the nose. I smiled to myself.
I have got to go back and read them again. My eyes snapped back into focus as I missed a question directed at me.
"Sorry, what?" I asked blatantly, scuffling around the circle of champions so I was actually in it.
"I said, do you know what to do?"
I shook my head and smiled apologetically as Nick rolled his eyes. I hissed at him and he jumped back in shock. I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing and winked at Gigi.
"Ahem" Dumbledore looked at me pointedly and I jumped to attention, "Someone of value has been taken from each of you and it is your task to go and rescue them from where-ever they may be"
Is it just me or does this sound weirdly familiar to what Harry had to do in his second task?
"You will have four hours to find them and take them back here, but beware- there will be traps set up everywhere and remember, the only person who can see you in this time is your person of value"
Oh great. He couldn't have just told everyone in the castle we were doing a challenge?
"Your person could be anywhere in the castle but common rooms and offices and you will be given a small clue to try and help you find them" Dumbledore gave a sweeping glance to the champions to see if we had understood,
"Fantastic, now let's get started, shall we? Now if everyone would line up over here" he guided us over to 4 brightly marked spots in the ground, each the colour of the three schools and handed out the golden time turners.
I ran my hand over the cool surface, careful not to turn it. One of the officers handed out some white slip of paper to each contestant. I opened it curiously and read the small riddle printed on it.
'In the castle where everything is hidden.
If you have to ask you will never know, if you know, you need only ask'
Right then, another riddle. Before I had any time to mull over this new information Dumbledore stood in front of us once more.
"There is one minute left until the cannon sounds, at that time you will turn your time turners 4 times and remember when you are done, come back here to your original spots" he smiled widely, " and Good l-"
But he was cut off by the loud 'Bang!' from the cannon. I quickly turned the time turner back four times and felt my world spinning around me.
I shut my eyes, feeling dizzy and only reopened them when my feet stable the soft, dewy ground. I stumbled backwards in surprise before composing myself and taking in my surroundings.
I was outside, near a small door leading into the transfiguration classrooms: near the Ravenclaw common room. I slipped through the door and put my hand on the handle, closing it slowly to stop it from making any noise. The corridor was pitch black and as much as I loved the idea of tripping on something and dying or getting seen, I decided to cast 'Lumos'.
