"..... And that's why you should always call when you're going to be running late", gran ended her......(I can't even say how long, I lost interest after the first three words) lecture.

"ALISHA!"

"Sorry what?"

"Did you hear a word I said?"

"What did I say?"

"Um-" I was saved by the bell when her phone rang.

She lifted a finger indicating to me that we'll continue in a second.

And I knew better than to escape so I just awkwardly stood there.

Her conversation on the phone soon ended and she hung up.

"Alisha, Do you mind running down at the studio with me for a while?"

Me?!

You might be wondering why the shock? Well, from what I've heard, hers is a very sophisticated job.

And I feel so flattered to be asked to accompany her.

She held back a smile and nodded.

She picked up her phone and pressed 1.

I guess it was speed dial cause immediately someone was on the other end of the line.

"Eric, yes, I need you now."

With that she hung up and walked out the kitchen.

Just as we arrived at the gate, a black limo pulled up.

Mom didn't tell me she was THAT rich!

I looked on in awestruck, and was only brought back to reality when gran pulled me towards the vehicle.

Getting in the back seat as gran got in the front, I still found it hard to keep my mouth closed.

"And who is this lovely lady?", Eric asked, gesturing to me.

"That's Alisha, my granddaughter."

It was obvious that Eric was shocked, since he kept looking between me and gran every second.

"Dammit Eric, watch the road", gran scolded during one of Eric's glance between me and her.

"I'm sorry ma'am, I didn't know you had a-"

"Granddaughter? I get that alot. Well you do now, so focus in the road."
