Starting Over

I wake up and don't know where I am. But then I look over and see Kasen and Destini still asleep and remember I'm in a fort in Destini's room. I rub my eyes and see Quad is sprawled out beside me. I giggle and grab my phone. I unlock it and I have a new message. When I open it, it says:

From: KeKe

Haree keeps saying he wants you back.

Man I thought this shit was over with. I thought it was clear that we were through. I huffed and started to type a reply.

To: Keke

Tell him I said it's over with and it's been over with. There is no more 'us' and never will be again.

I sent the message and was satisfied with myself. I was finally getting rid of the bad things and replacing them with better. Jaharee was no longer apart of my life, and I hoped he realized that. With that thought on my mind, I drifted back to sleep.

I woke up to Quad moving around beside me and Destini and Kasen just waking up. I sat up and remember what  happened before I fell back asleep. I smiled and reminded myself to tell Destini. I felt my phone vibrate and it was a text from my mom saying I needed to get home. I got up and gathered my things. "Boo my mom said I gotta go ahead and get home", I say to Destini. She sighs and says, "Ok fine I'll drive you". I nod and say goodbye to Kasen and Quad. I was just about to walk out of her bedroom when somebody pulled me back. Without hesitation Quad pulled me into a kiss. My cheeks flushed with red and I smiled to myself. He broke the kiss and then looked at me intensely. The silence was broken when we hear Destini yell downstairs, "Girl come on before yo mama have a fit!". Quad gives me a kiss on the cheek and I walk downstairs. Me and Destini hop into her Audi and drive off.

The car was silent except for the Tupac blaring from the speakers. I decided to go ahead and tell Destini what happened early that morning. "Boo?", I say. When she looks over I begin to explain. "K so, this morning before anybody else was up I woke up and saw I had a text from Kierra. She told me Jaharee keeps saying he wants me back or whatever. So I told her to tell him that it's been over and there's never gonna be an 'us' again." There was a short pause before Destini looked over at me with a raised eyebrow. "So you cutting niggas off for my cuzzo now I see". I blushed. She grinned at me and said,"Girl you needa go ahead and get with my cousin. You know you want to". I just looked away out the window.

A few minutes later we pulled up to my house. I gave Destini a hug and got out. "Bitch you better text me!!", she screamed out the window. I laughed and said,"I will". She drove off and I went in the house. As soon as I got inside I ran up to my room and took a shower. I put on some shorts and a tank top and then texted Destini like she asked me too.

Nothing really, just got out the shower. Wbu?

Sitting here playing video games with Kasen and Quad.

No, my heard did not skip a beat. My heart did fucking gymnastics on that beat!! I was finally with the kid I had been crushing on for a year. Something told me this was really going to work out. Like it's not going to end up like my other relationships. No lies, no cheating, nothing like that. I was taken by somebody who I truly believed was gonna treat me right.
