The Bonfire

*JASMINE'S POV*

It's been about two weeks since that night we had dinner with Mareoa. And almost everytime I talk to Destini now she's hanging out with him. I thought to myself for a second and decided to call destini and ask her if I could come over. Well, she said yes of course. So I left my house and headed over there.

*20 minutes later*

I arrived at destini's house and she opened the door looking happier than I had seen her in a long time. "Hey booooo!!",she said while pulling me inside. I laughed,"hey girl!" She pulled me up to her room and we sat on her bed. She smiled at me widely. "What?", I said laughing. She started blushing,"I have to tell you something....". I raised an eyebrow at her,"whhhaattttt?". She started laughing hysterically. She laughed for atleast a full minute before calming down. "Ok ok I'm gonna give you a hint.......me and kasen don't go out anymore...". I looked at her shocked. But before I could say anything she said,"BUT, I'm not single....." I got instantly confused. "Just think about it reaaaal hard",she said. Then it all came to me. "Aaaahhhhhhh!!!!",I started screaming and jumping on her bed. "Haha you fangirl",she said laughing. I calmed down and looked at her with a smile,"girl tell me everything". She sighed and began telling the story, starting from the time her and kasen arrived home and ending at the night they got together which was the night before. I listened through the whole thing and then finally replied with an,"aaaawwww!" She giggled and blushed. "I know I know...", she said. "Plus...tonight me and him are going to a bonfire with some of his friends...and I don't know what to wear". I held up my hands. "Don't look at me!! I'm not one to ask about bonfire attire". She rolled her eyes at me and I laughed. "Ok girl well I'll just talk to you later. It's almost time for mareoa to get here anyways!!", she said with a grin on her face again. I laughed at her enthusiasm. "Ok ok I'll just text you. Tell me how it gooooessss", I said winking at her. I then got off her bed and she walked me to the door. She have me a hug and I walked home.

*DESTINI'S POV*

About 5 minutes after Jasmine left I went back upstairs to my room and and started going through my closet. I had NO IDEA what to wear. A few minutes later i heard my brother scream at me from downstairs,"Destini!!! Mareoa's here!!". "Ok send him up!", I screamed back. A few seconds later I heard a knock on my door. I opened it and mareoa greeted me with a smile. "Hi bae",he said hugging me. I hugged back,"hey bae". He walked into my room and sat on my bed. I walked back over to my closet and began to look through it again. "What you doing?",he asked me. "Trying to find something to wear to this bonfire", I said still sifting through my clothes. He laughed lowly to himself. "Bae can I take a shower real quick?",he said getting up and walking to me. "Sure", I said turning around. He hugged me for a while and then walked out of my room to the bathroom.

*30 minutes later*

This man was still in the damn shower!! I looked at the clock on my nightstand and noticed it was already 11:15. We had to be there by 12:00 so he needed to hurry up. Just as I finished my thoughts I heard the water turn off. Within a few minutes mareoa walked back into my room fully clothed and drying off his hair. "You still looking bae?", he asked approaching me. "Yeeeess! I can't find anything!", I said walking away and sitting on my bed. "Here let my try", mareoa said going to my closet. "Good luck", I said getting comfortable on my bed. I watched him look for about 5 minutes before he ventured over to "the dangerous side" of my closet. This side consisted of the girliest stuff I owned."oh god...", I mumbled to myself. I fell back on my bed and covered my face with my hands.

*10 minutes later*

"Here you go!!!", mareoa said holding up an outfit he had picked out. I got up and looked it over. There was a blue and white crop top, high wasted pants,and some white pumps. I smirked at the outfit then at mareoa. I was satisfied. "Good job bae", I said taking the outfit from his hands and walking to the bathroom to change. I decided to leave my hair down and curly. When I walked downstairs mareoa was already there waiting for me. He took my hand when I reached the bottom of the stairs. "Shall we my queen?" I laughed at his gentleman gesture. "We shall my handsome knight". He walked us to the car and opened the door for me. He got in on the drivers side and drove us to the bonfire.

*12:15 am*

We got out of the car and walked to the crowd of people we saw in the distance. Right before we approached them mareoa grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers. I smiled to myself and we walked up to his friends. "Guys this is destini...my girlfriend", he said introducing me to everybody. Everyone smiled at me and said hey. I waved and smiled at everyone and me and mareoa walked around and mingled for a few minutes.

*MAREOA'S POV*

I was talking to one of my friends when I looked over and saw destini sitting in front of the fire. I completely zoned out of the conversation me and my friend were having and stared at destini. She was the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I really loved her... Tonight was the night...

I thought to myself before walking over to her. I kneeled down behind her and tapped her on the shoulder. She turned around and looked at me with a smile on her face. "Having fun?", I asked her. She nodded. I smiled and said,"come with me",before grabbing her hand.

*DESTINI'S POV*

Mareoa grabbed my hand and dragged me away from the fire. We walked further and further down the beach for a good 5 minutes. Eventually, a huge rock came into view. He walked us over to it. "Sit up here with me", he said lifting me up onto the rock. He sat down beside me and almost instantly engulfed me in a hug. I smiled into his shoulder and then let go. He held onto me and looked me in the eyes. "You would let go of me that fast?", he said. I smirked, "no....". He shook his head as if he were in deep thought. Then without warning, he kissed me. Not a hard kiss, but one that made my insides melt. I felt electricity all throughout my body.

When our lips parted he looked at me and smiled. "I love you", he said. "I love you too mareoa", I said smiling also. We both hopped off the rock and began walking back to the bonfire. Our fingers were intertwined, but every once in a while I would bring my hand to my lips and smile at the thought. My lips tingled for the rest of the night. ❤️
