Dinner and A New Relationship

Mareoa walked into the kitchen and gave me and quad a small smile. I walked up and shook his hand. "Hi mareoa, I'm her bestfriend Jasmine." He smiled, "hello Jasmine, nice to meet you". Quad walked up and held out his hand. "Nice to meet you, I'm her cousin Jaquan, but just call me Quad." Mareoa smiled and shook his hand. "Nice to meet you".

After a few seconds Destini said, "ok well guys since Mareoa helped us out we decided to invite him to dinner. Would you guys like to join?". Me and Quad looked at each other then back at Destini. "Sure", we both said simultaneously. "Yay!! Ok guys well were leaving at 6 so be ready ok?", destini said excited. We all nodded and destini and kasen walked into the living room with mareoa. I turned to Quad and he smiled at me. "Why you smiling?", I asked now smiling also. "Because bae, I get to spend more time with you", he says. He placed his hands on my waist and I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Aww, I'm happy bae", I said. "I'm happy too", he said kissing me before leaving to join the others in the living room. I finished up the dishes that were still in the sink and then texted my mom telling her my plans. She replied with an "ok" and I went into the living room with everybody else.

*2 hours later*

Everybody engaged in small talk for a couple hours. Mareoa wasn't half bad. He actually seemed like a genuinely nice person. Everyone else seemed to like him too. We all watched a movie until 5 then we started getting ready for dinner. "Bae, can you take me home for a minute so I can change?", I asked Quad. "Sure, hold on let me get the keys", he said grabbing them off the table beside him and walking us outside to the car. We hopped in and drove to my house. My mom wasn't home so I grabbed the spare key and walked inside. I went straight to my room and to my closet. Since we weren't going to a super fancy place I didn't want to overdo it. But I still wanted to look nice. I picked out a black dress with a sweetheart neckline that came down to right above my knees and some black flats.

At the last minute I changed my mind about changing here and decided to just do my hair. I straightened it, curled the ends, and just let it fall down my back. It didn't take long though because my hair was already semi straight from the night before. When i finished I put my outfit into a small "overnight" bag and walked out.

When I got into the car Quad waited for me to close the door then asked,"I thought you were going to change here?" "I changed my mind and decided to just do my hair and change over there", I said pointing to my bag. He nodded and drove us back to destini's house.

As soon as we got there I ran to the bathroom and changed quickly because it was already 5:45. I fixed my hair in the mirror then walked out. Destini walked out of her room across the hall and smiled at me looking over my outfit. "Cute bestfriend!",she said. I looked at her outfit. She had on a dark purple dress with spaghetti straps that was the same length as mine. "You too boo!", I said. We both walked downstairs and the guys were waiting for us. They all looked nice. It seemed like they knew what we were wearing or something! Because quad had on khakis with a black button down shirt and kasen had on khakis with a purple button down shirt! Kasen stared at destini in awe and quad looked at me the same.

"Jasmine, you look beautiful", quad said taking my hand when I reached the bottom of the stairs. "Thank you,and you look handsome", I said smiling at him. "Destini you're gorgeous bae", kasen said to destini. She blushed. "Thank you." Then, out of nowhere Mareoa said, "destini you're stunning." Everyone looked at him and he was staring at her wide eyed. She gave him a small smile," thanks mareoa!" But kasen gave him a death glare. Noticing this I spoke up before anything bad happened. "Ok guys let's go it's 6!!" Everyone walked out and got into their separate cars and drove to the restaurant.

*30 minutes into the dinner*

Were about to leave and the dinner has been AMAZING. I mean this food was the bomb.com!! Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves ...except for Kasen. Throughout the entire dinner mareoa had been staring at destini. She didn't seem to notice but kasen did and he didn't like it. When we payed and left he seemed in a hurry to get home. "Bae chill why you in such a hurry?", destini asked him. "Cause we need to talk", he said angrily. She looked confused then turned back to mareoa. "Ok mareoa well I guess we'll see you around", she said nonchalantly. He nodded and said bye to everybody. "Thanks for the dinner by the way!", he yelled before he got into his car and drove off. I hugged destini and said I needed to get home. Me and quad got into the car and he drove me home. I kissed him goodnight and he left. I then went into my room, changed, and let sleep take over me.

*DESTINI'S POV*

When Jasmine and quad left me and kasen got in the car and he drove us home. The ride was extremely quiet and I was eager to know wtf he wanted to talk about so bad and why he seemed so mad. We got home and when we got inside he slammed the door causing the pictures on the wall to shake. "What the hell kasen?", I screamed. "Ion like that nigga Mareoa man", he said balling his fists. "Why?! He helped us out and we took him to dinner. Why are you so damn mad all of a sudden?!", I said now getting mad myself. "Because brauh he was staring at you the whole damn dinner . He want you man", he said. I scrunched my face up at him. "The fuck kasen?! What does that have to do with us?? That's HIM, last time I checked this relationship consisted of ME AND YOU.", I said now infuriated. "Nah ion like that shit", he said. My face fell. I felt hurt that he didn't trust me. "Fine, you don't have to trust me. You can do you...",I said before walking upstairs. He didn't say anything.

When I got into my room I slammed the door and changed. I put on some sweatpants, a white T shirt and some nike slides. I was so fucking pissed. I figured Jasmine was asleep so I called the only other person I could think of.

*phone convo*

"Hey mareoa, can you come get me?"

"Sure, you at home right?"

"Yea, hurry please."

*end of phone convo*

I packed a small overnight bag and walked into the Kitchen to wait. I tried my best to avoid kasen. As soon as mareoa texted me and told me he was outside I left the house in a hurry not saying anything to anybody.

*skips car ride*

When we got to his house it was huge. I stared in awe. "You can sleep in my bed and I'll sleep on the couch", he said pointed me up the stairs. I nodded. "Thanks mareoa." He nodded,"it's cool, here I'll show you my room". He walked us upstairs and showed me to his room. I put my bag down and turned around to hug him. He was being a really good friend right now even though we just met. When he left the room I changed into the pajamas I packed and got straight into the bed. I instantly fell asleep.

*next morning*

I woke up feeling a lot better. I walked downstairs and heard mareoa talking to some lady. When I reached the kitchen mareoa and the lady turned around and smiled at me. "Goodmorning", they both said. "Goodmorning", I said back. "Destini this is my mom", mareoa said to me. "Hello sweetie", she said walking up to me and hugging me. I hugged her back and smiled "hi". "Well I'll just leave you too alone", she said before leaving.

Mareoa looked at me and smiled sympathetically. "Wanna tell me what's wrong now?", he asked. I nodded and told him everything. He registered everything I said before speaking. "Damn, I'm sorry destini. I didn't mean to cause trouble... I'm not gonna lie though, you are extremely beautiful which is why I was staring..and I do feel something for you...", he said. I just sat there in shock. "Wow", was all I could manage to say. "Yea.....do you maybe..feel the same..at all?",he said shyly. I thought to myself. I did actually, he was a sweetheart. But I needed time after what happened with me and kasen. "I do mareoa...but I need time", I finally said. He nodded,"i understand". I smiled and hugged him. We spent the rest of the weekend together.

*2 weeks later*

Me and mareoa have been hanging out a lot lately. And he's really been helping me out a lot. He was a really great person and friend. I thought silently to myself. I was home alone and wasn't really planning on doing anything. Suddenly, my phone started going off. I picked it up and saw that I had an oovoo call from mareoa. I answered and smiled into the camera. "Hey!", I said. "Hey frizzy", he replied. That was the nickname he had given me. It got a little awkward for some reason as he looked down shyly. "What's up?", I said breaking the silence. "Destini can I ask you something?", he said still looking down. "Sure", I said. "Destini I really like you a lot....actually...I love you...and I wanted to know if you would be mine?...",he said flashing me a smile. My heart fluttered. I thought for a second. It had been two weeks already and me and kasen hadn't even talked. It was about time for me to move on. I smiled at mareoa. "Yes." His eyes got happy. "Really?", he asked me. I nodded smiling. He started smiling uncontrollably. "I promise you won't regret it...bae", he said adding in that bae part. I laughed at this. "Alright, I'll text you bae", I said before hanging up the call.
