Chapter 29

Hailey's P.o.v.

After I led Tyreese and his group I came back to quietness. It was getting dark and almost everyone was turning in.

I honestly have no idea why Rick did what he did. It's almost like he's going crazy...

I walk into Beth's cell and she's cuddled up to Randell. I smile remembering Carl and I.

"Hey." He says.

"What's up?" He asks.

"Nothing. Is she asleep?"

He nods.

"Okay, I guess I'll go to sleep too." I sigh. "See you in the morning."

I walk up to my cell and take off my shoes. Once again, I'm alone and looking at the top of the bunk.

I miss Carl so much. I just want him here. I want to touch him.

My eyes start to water and I know what's coming next. Tears start pouring out of my eyes. I try my best to keep quiet, but I just can't.

I need him.

Randall's P.o.v.

Hailey looked really disappointed when she saw Beth sleeping. That poor girl has been through so much, maybe I should go and talk to her. I slowly get up and place Beth's head on the pillow. As I'm walking to Hailey's cell I hear crying, as I get closer up the stairs I realize it's her. I go into her cell and there she is crying with her back towards me.

I want to do something, but I don't know if I should...oh fuck it.

I lay beside her and wrap my arms around her. She quickly turns around and buries her head into my chest.

That same spark I got the first time I talked to her came.

Her crying breaks my heart.

"I miss him..." She manages to say before falling asleep in my arms.

Hailey's P.o.v.

I wake up in Randall's arms. I get up and walk out of my cell. It's morning and I can tell by the sun shining into the prison. We have electricity due to the generator, but we try not to use the lights in the day time. I walk into the cafeteria and see Beth feeding Judith.

"Where's Rick?" I ask sitting across from her.

"He's on watch."

"What about Michonne? Is she still here?" I ask and she nods.

"Yeah, but she insisted on sleeping outside last night."

"Well, after Rick's scene last night I don't blame her."

Beth burps Judith and we talk until Carl comes in. Suddenly I feel uncomfortable. He looks over at us as he grabs a bowel of cereal.

"I'm going to go." I tell her as I get up. I take Judith and place her in her "crib" with Carol and walk to my cell. Randall is up.

"Thanks for coming in last night."

It's great to have friends in this world.

"No problem. If you ever need me I'm here." He says patting my shoulder and walking out. I smile and go to the cell next to me, Jame's cell.

"Hey sis." He says as he plays with his cars.

"Do you want something to eat?" I ask. He nods and smiles.

"Let's go."

James and I walk down to the cafeteria and this time the whole group was in there besides Rick.
