(A/n this chapter is not the best but as you get father into the story it gets better, this chapter is pretty much not the best written and it's pretty much what leads you to the main point as you get deeper in the story. Hope that makes sense, thanks for reading!!!!)

Rose POV

I was chilling at my friends house smoking a joint when all a sudden I heard a gun shot just outside the house . My heart was racing at this point , I got on the floor and crawled to a closet that was in the bedroom . I called 911 and the lady said " 911 whats your emergency ?" , i said " I heard a gun shot outside my house , and i think my friend Jacob Ross was shot , please hurry ." the cops came , along with a ambulance . They pronounced by best friend since kindergarten dead .

3 months later :

It was September now and I was still struggling over Jacobs death . He got in a fight and the thug shot him . The police found the guy , but if i ever see him in the streets he's a dead man . I diden't have anywhere to go , I basically lived with Jacob , but i can't go back cause there is to many memories there . I was walking down the street when i saw 2 firetrucks , 1 ambulance , and a battalion chief responding to a house fire . I walked over and tapped a firefighter on the shoulder and when he turned around it instantly became awkward but kept acting normal and asked " What happened ?" and he responded saying " A guy tried to kill his girlfriend , and nearly accomplished it , she barley hanging in there and we don't know if she will make it ." After he said all that memories came flooding back to me of Jacob , and i just walked away not wanting to cry in front of my brothers friend Joe Cruz who i had and still have a crush on . We lost contact after my brother was killed about 5 years ago , that's another memory i will never forget is when my cousin called me saying he was killed.

Joe POV

I was standing there putting my ax away when somebody tapped me on the shoulder and when I turned around my heart dropped and I just wanted to hug my friends sister who i haven't seen in 5 years since he got killed . She asked "What happened ?" and I said "A guy tried to kill his girlfriend , and nearly accomplished it , she's barely hanging in there and we don't know if she will make it. " She had tears in her eyes and walked away before i could say anything .

Rose POV

When i got back to the house i was staying at , i walked past my friend Sarah , who has also been a friend of mine for so many years . she saw me crying and asked " Whats wrong ?" , and i just shook my head and went to the guest bedroom Sarah let me stay in for a bit and just cried . When i finally calmed down , i decided i needed to start a new chapter in my life , i needed a good job and decided to be a EMT/Paramedic for the Fire Department . But i knew it was gong to take work and lots of hours to achieve that goal . I wanted a new new start in life and , leave the old life i'v bee living since i was 16 years old . I looked in the mirror and said " Goodbye old life , Hello new life ."
